  • I need the MGE .txt files

I thought I'd try my hand at a scenario so I started modifying my .txt files. Unfortunately they seem to have become corrupt. I have all sorts of files in different directories and I can no longer remember which ones I have modified, or which ones came with MGE, which with FW and which with 2.42.

Could some kind soul post the MGE .txt files (particularly labels.txt and rules.txt)?

    Thanks,

    RJM at Sleeper's

PS The first 3 posts saying I should have backed them up will be OK, but after that, any posts telling me I should have backed them up will automatically decrease the posters post count by 10.

    You should've backed them up!

Perhaps you could have a look at those files' creation/last modified date to see whether you edited them... Also, the FW and MGE rules.txt are the same.

Why not just reinstall civ to a new directory and compare files. I'm not sure if it's breach of copyright to post the actual game files (?)

I can do that, I just thought it would be easier if someone posted them - however if there is a concern about copyright I'll do it that way.

That's a good idea, assuming that the files have a recognisably early date. Otherwise I may simply have to re-install them.

However, there now seems to be a possibility that my .txt files have not become corrupt after all - rather it was a corrupt save file that I was using.

Anyway, thanks for the help guys.
