Hmmm.... if thats to be the case Curt then I fear I've already let the cat out of the bag and held it up for all to see.

Back to the Nautilus Curt, do you think there's a chance you could take a crack at designing one? If not then I'd more than understand.

I have a question to ask the forum in regards to the existance of both a generic cavalry and lancer unit. I realized after compiling a preliminary list of all the units that each and every playable civ does infact have their own cavalry unit. Should I then keep the cavalry and the lancer unit for the sake of the Independant civ or should I use those two slots for more exotic units?

Should I decide to axe those units I'll likely use one of the now vacant slots for a "Latin American" unit to be deployed in independant controlled cities in Latin America. The other vacant unit slot could then be used for an Aboriginal South American unit, that way I'll be close to having one Aboriginal unit for each continent on earth.

If you´d ask me, I´d say move the generic cavalry troopers to the trash bin and go for the two more exotic ones!

Okay the, if I am to keep with the idea of having an Aboriginal unit for each continent.... are there any idea's as to what unit could repersent the vast lands of Central Asia and Siberia that belong to the Aboriginals and what they may look like?

            Great idea Sarsstock!

Not too long ago I myself was think about doing a scenario alond similar lines. More about that later, but for the moment I'd like to say that I think one of the most neglected features in scenario design has been the .alt scenario file, where you can vary how the scenario starts off. It's great that someone's giving this a go again. As well as this, I believe you can use .alt event files in ToT to even further increase the playability.

Anyway, I'm going to let the cat out of the bag and tell you what I was thinking. I was considering doing "The World of HP Lovecraft", set in the 1930's and based around the Cthulhu Mythos. Who knows, I might actually get past the ideas stage one of these days. How about something like the 'Mountains of Madness' deep in the Antarctic for the player to find?

I'd definitely go with horse nomads. Most cultures in that region trace in some way back to the Mongol Hordes.

Okie dokie, I will definitely go with a Mongol Horde looking unit to represent the nomadic peoples of Siberia. As for now I've hit a snag with the designing of the advanced level infantry for the Aboriginals, Continentals, Orientals and Muslims. Hopefully by next week I'll have cleared this hurdle and will be able to start focusing on the events.txt and such.

Okay, I am officially in need of idea's and inspiration for the "Advanced Level Infantry" in this game. What I'm looking for isn't necessarily historically accurate uniform descriptions.... but rather something straight out of turn of the century pulp fiction.

What I need are idea's for the Oriental's Advanced Infantry, the Aboriginal Advanced Infantry, the Muslim Advanced Infantry, and both the Continent AND Anglo Advanced Infantry. Now again, I'm not necessarily looking for physical contributions.... but I won't turn down a unit if one is being offered. What I'm looking for are exotic lookings units.... units that actually look like something you would have seen in Disney's version of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

That reminds me, Curt.... Gareth.... Steph.... Harry..... if any of you out there are interested in contributing, I'd like to renew my request for the Nautilus. Out of all the units needed for this game, that is the one I am all but certain I can't produce on my own. I would love to add any one of your names to the credits as contributors to this project of mine!!

If you google 'Nautilus' images, you'll come up with good material, like this: http://www.mach3graphics.com/html/gallery2.htm

I wanna hear more about that proposed Cthulhu scenario.

Might be fun playing the Great Old Ones.

Well first off, I'm not too sure what you mean Exile when you say "Cthulhu". Although I do have a question I wanted to ask you Exile about the map you designed and placed cities in for Imperialism 1870.... that was your map correct?

Anyways Erika to answer your question about the Victorian tank what I'm going to use is the unit I posed some time ago to be used in my abandoned "Years of Rice and Salt" scenario. The tank is steam powered and at the time I designed it I was quite happy with it. Now however that I'm working in ToT.... well I'm hoping to enlist some help in making full use of the ToT pallet. In the mean time, this is what the Tank looks like as of now before I've tweaked it for the full colour pallet. Also, I've included the lightning gun unit along with the volcano unit which will lead the way to the "Center of the Earth".

Unfortunately, I've only now started to understand the difficulty in ToT events writing. All together, when taking in the fact that I want to create brand new units.... cities... terrains.... icons.... peoples and everything.... I'm starting to come to the realization that this project will take much longer than I initially thought.

Btw, I love that oil wagon Boco.... maybe I could use that or something along similar designs somehow for one of the freight units.
