Oh, I had suggested Sarsstock have a looming Martian invasion that will NEED the advanced units and techs the events make available to repel. I think he might still be doing that, at least. However, I had further suggested he add a Mars map to expand that war campaign. Obviously, he's not going that far with it.

Yes, that was just afew of the many things we discussed that I understood were supposed to be kept confidential until the beta version was released.

Please Patine, I don't want to reveal any more than I need to this early. I hope you can respect that.

Anyways, moving right along.... my plan for the naval units in the game are to include every major step in naval warfare from the frigate on the left circa 1860 to the advanced Dreadnaught pictured right. I'm also considering the possibility of a class of warship thats superior to the Dreadnaught.... a class that can only be realized after certain event triggered actions come into play.

Now this by my count means there may be a possible 19 naval units featured..... that does seem like a bit too many. Especially as there's likely going to be shortages enough in terms of unit space with more important units. I suppose its the kind of thing that I'll have to examine as I work my way down the development path.

Well Curt, there is a long list of units that I do need help with on this project. The most challenging of which is this... the Nautilus. What i'm looking for is a crisp Fairline style brass submarine that uses the ToT pallet to its full potential.

Here's the original Nautilus from the Jules Verne scenario many a year ago. Curt if you can be any help on this I would most certainly appreciate it man!!

Fantastic units, Sarsstock. Have you used ToT's increased color depth? The units look very powerful!

Well Doctor for those cavalry units I posted earlier I used a great deal of the new colour depth in the re-colouring of Fairline's amazing new horse unit.

May I suggest a Nautilus based off of Walt's design, not the League of Extraordinarily Crappy Plot Direction?

Yes, old Walt gave us the definitive Nautilus.... as well as James Mason in the best ever portrayal of Captain Nemo. The LXG Nautilus reminded more of an underwater aircraft carrier, not to mention the fact that it came nowhere near putting me in mind of the ship Verne had described.

Now while were on the literary note here, I wonder if somebody out there is a fan of Edgar Rice Burroughs. If so, could you please tell me in which of his Tarzan novels was the Egyptian city of Bala discovered along with Cleopatra CI?

Well, I guess I am. I've read a number of Tarzan novels, though by no means all. I remember a lost Roman city, a lost Crusader city, Atlanteans and Amazons, as well as entire empires at the earth's centre. But not lost Egyptians. It must be one I missed.

Here's a link to summaries of all the Tarzan novels. I think you can probably find the reference there. Good luck. http://www.ac.wwu.edu/~stephan/Tarzan/tarzan00.html

Hmm... I may have been wrong then. I could have sworn I had heard from a pretty good source (possibly Patine) that it was from one of the Tarzan novels. In any case I hope to keep the city of Bala and Cleopatra CI, I'd just rather have a little more information on the story so that I can elaborate in the event generated text pop up.

Now as most of you will surely remember the original Jules Verne scenario had two civ's to represent the European and American nations. Those being the Continental Alliance and the Anglo-Alliance. Way back then the USA and Great Britain formed the Anglo Alliance and mainland Europe along with the CSA formed the Continental Alliance.

What I propose is a change to that alliance system. What I intend to do is have the Anglo Alliance consist of Great Britain, France, Russia and the Confederate States and the Continental Alliance will consist of the USA, Austria and the newly unified Germany. These as some might reconize are the same alliances used in Harry Turtledove's "How Few Remain" series. Now I may have to change the name of the Anglo Alliance as two of its members cannot be described as Anglo nations in the least.

Can anyone suggest what I should do with nations such as Spain and Italy? Also, I have a rough idea for the Anglo Alliance's flag but am in need of a design for a Continental flag. Curt, you've come up with some pretty damn fine flags for fictional alliances over the years, do you have any idea's?

I did give you that source, I think, but I may have been mistaken, myself. Anyway, I it's been a while since I've read most of those book (as far back as high school, in fact), and I've only read Wells of them recently. I may have gotten my authors mixed up. Sorry for any inconvenience.
