    • I found a great utility for disabling terrain animations there, but nothing that disables unit animations (and the built-in lockout option doesn't work either). Does anyone know of a utility or other way to lockout unit animations in ToT?

      • @ Patine

Do you still need the Ki-43 and the Ki-61?

        • I could possibly find room for them, as I may not use as many tanks in the end. Even if I don't, thanks anyway for the help!

If you choose the .SPR override, none of the unit sprites are used, so that'll work, unless you want to use the static sprites.

Just mention in the readme and/or title text that people should turn off unit/terrain animation in the game menu.

            • you mean there is more to disabling the animations than deleting every .spr file in the ToT directory?
I am not delusional! Now if you'll excuse me, i'm gonna go dance with the purple wombat who's playing show-tunes in my coffee cup!

Difference is irrelevant when dosage is higher than recommended!

              • It worked! I deleted all the sprites and turned on .SPR override and the unit animations ceased. Thanks, Merc and Erika!

Now, does someone have a good B-24, Yamato-class BB, USS Enterprise, Kittyhawk, and Matilda II. Those are all I need to complete my units file.

Do you have a short memory?

Of course all of the sprites will disappear if you delete them all. However, doing that only solves the problem on your machine. Not everybody wants to delete their sprites and should not be instructed to do so. As Mercator said, what you need to do is enable the .SPR file override in the Cheat menu (which disables the static.spr file only) and provide instructions in your readme file for the user to turn off animated units under Graphics Options. If you want to kill the animated units completely (without removing them), you can set the individual unit .SPR file override flags (rules.txt) to 1. Look at Curt's Bitterfrost II scenario. He did it perfectly. If you use that dummy resource.spr file, you can completely forget about animated terrain as well.

                      • @Catfish: Thanks for the tip on properly disabling unit animations in a broader sense.

@Broken_Erika: Thanks for the tanks and ships.

                        • Erika, are any of the tanks with no identifying labels with the sig a Matilda II? I get the feeling I may already have one.

                            • Thanks a lot, Erika! Now, I'm almost set. Could someone please slip me (or let me know the location of) a Kittyhawk with RAAF markings and a USS Enterprise? That should complete my units file. I'd appreciate any help in that regard. Thanks!

                              • Say, Erika (or anyone else for that matter), could you also make or find me a good graphic of a Model 94? I like that picture on Page 5 (and the melodramatic narrative). I also need a P-40 and a B-24 (both devoid from the graphics showcase in modern format for some reason). Those, along with the two above, are all I need to complete my units file. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!
