Hello, my little frozen guppies!
Some of you may recall the ToT version of Bitterfrost that was in development
a while back, complete with a nigh-complete terrain graphic overhaul by the
esteemed wizard, Mr Catfish.
Well, I was happy with the look, but not with my own design.
The scenario felt 'clunky' and did not take advantage
of the fun stuff in ToT, such as unit bmps and flags, etc.
Well, now I am working on the definitive version,
my proper fantasy scenario that should have been.
And the good news is that all the hard parts (oops!) have mostly been done.
The units, rules, terrain, icons and people, etc are sorted.
Only events and other text files are needing edited.
I am thinking about a New Year release, or even in time for that thrice-cursed
holiday which involves a fat ogre in a red suit who says "ho ho ho!"...
So what has changed, and what has not?
Well, there are three playable human civs, and three playable, but not very human civs.
It's on a giga map, with various chilled (I don't mean relaxed!) areas for you to explore.
There are heroes and hired freaks to find, and no more easy routes to an army of characters.
But you can find many good bonus items and locations that will enhance your civ greatly.
The goal? A bit like colonisation - You develop a small colony into a monarchy, then into a nation.
To do this you must wipe out or enslave all other human factions.
No 'power sharing' here!
And that philosophy is also the motto of the island's original owners, who are back.
The breath-takingly nasty Ancients have been redesigned to be a real threat.
They sport flying beasts and rumbling tank things, not to mention the fact that
these coves are basically a modern army versus your medieval peasants.
They have your 1st class tickets to Hades stamped and ready!
The Undead, Zatarn and Urzit are back as well, the Urzit are now a civ and
have been recreated as the completely mental arch-enemies of the Ancients.
Beware their rabid Nedlings!
Well, you bounders will all find out soon enough!
There is tons to do and fight with in the new version, and the graphics are better
Than most stuff I have created for CIV2. Let’s take you on a little tour, shall we?
