                  *Garbled radio message from Kalinovski*

"Morale is low, leather uniforms are barely holding up to battle damage! Drunk Russians seem unstoppable!"

                  "Arrghhh!"

                  PS
Bloody great scenario - Just like Stalin, short and brutal!

I love the 'just about to be defeated' feeling that you are almost holding back the soviet enemy!

I have a feeling the defeat 'feeling' will be very real soon though!

This would rock as part of a series of tactical scenarios in a vast Eastern Front series!
Your performance could influence the next scenario to load, via events.
If you lose, you are told to load a certain version of the scen, etc...

Anyway, I am enjoying this one, a lot!

                    Glad you like it, Curt.

This one is an experiment to determine if WWII tactical can work with Civ2.

In Von Mellenthin's book, he addresses, in a matter-of-fact fashion, how difficult his task was at this time. Reading it, you DO get the feeling of a narrow line of elite German units holding back the hordes of Russian soldiers and tanks from the east. I did try to create that feeling with this one. Nice to see I got it.

I would be happy to create more tactical scenarios along these lines, but . . . .

I need a map-maker. Someone with much more talent in that area than I. As it is, I scavenge the maps of others, changing elements here and there, but never really make my own.

                    Any takers?

                        I missed that?

Absent-mindedness is sometimes said to be a side-effect of genius.

Well, Kobby, you ARE the master mapmaker, no doubt. You Norway was spectacularly good. The Chir battle didn't really require much in the way of creativity--a river, couple of towns, . . . and the ukraine. That about sums up the terrain out in the Don and Volga basins. Simple enough.

I've got a new email addy and am now on high-speed etc etc yadda yadda. Maybe your communique' got lost in transit? Send me a PM and we'll talk about stuff.

Um, Gareth? Are you around anywhere?

Someone wrote a book about implementing WWII tactics in Civ2?

Len Zigante is a map master
if you haven't seen this before,
i don't know how well he does real maps though
How many of you have seen these?
Bottom line: How is the scenario coming along?
I am not delusional! Now if you'll excuse me, i'm gonna go dance with the purple wombat who's playing show-tunes in my coffee cup!
Rules are like Egg's. They're fun when thrown out the window!
Difference is irrelevant when dosage is higher than recommended!

You're too busy to make maps for moi, remember, Merc?

No, I don't have MSN, Kobra.

Erika, it's done. DL it at the Spanish Site. It's there. I've got some of the Zigante maps around here somewhere. He seems like more of an artiste than a Civ2 enthusiast, but there's no doubting his talents, mosaic-wise.
