  • CIV II scenarios and windows XP

After the longest time I decided to fire up a game of civ2. Went over to CivFanatics and downloaded a few of the most popular scenarios. Problem is a few of the scenario events that you have to enable through DOS prompt just won't fire. I think it is a problem with a few of the commands that no longer work with XP. Is there a way to go around this?

Do a search for for the file called "choice". I'm at work right now so I can't find it on my home computer, but I do remember that Windows XP needs that file in the scenario folder for the events to work properly. If all else fails ask the Scenario League.

And if you are very lazy I've attatched it here...

just rename it from .txt to .com (poly doesn't like .com attatchments), you might need to disable 'hide extenntions for known file types', under tools -> folder options second tab.

Just put a copy of it in each scen. folder with multiple rules/events.

        Hope this works!
