  • An old question...

I'm quite sure this has been posted every now and again, but maybe someone will be ready to answer:
Is it possible to change text colour in the pop-up boxes?

    Thanks.

I want to say yes, but the answer is either:

    1) The text color is the default color of your operating system.
    2) The text color is directly related to the palette same as the title text is.

      Doesn't sound too promising

Depends if you can fathom changing a color or two in your palette. You will have to change a palette color, if this will in fact work, from the terrain.gif(?) palette from a grey to your new color.

This is at least how it is done for the titles of the viewing windows. Problem is that most scenarios use a large amount of grey in the terrain and units so you might be changing something that will effect a few dozen things.

        For example:

Using a paint program change the title text color from grey to red - Switchout grey swatch with red, replace old red swatch with old grey color, effectively exchanging colors. Then, to change all effected graphics from the now red colors, back to grey, you will have to replace the pixels of the graphics with the swatch that was once red and is now grey.

If you only have to change the colors as outlined above then it shouldn't be to much of a hassle. PSP allows you to switch the colors pretty smootly and the replacement tool picks up the slack for the color switch.

Your only real problem is finding a color you have barely used or have never used. If you use a widely used color then you will be going back and forth, changing the palette, for a long time until you get it all to work out.

Yes, it's (1). It's the palette of the Units.gif that would have to be changed. But that would affect ALL graphics.
