In 2004, Mercatore Uno will make you his dog.

Obscure gaming references aside, Mercator is now my second in command. Just like me, he gets to almost never move threads, almost never delete posts, and almost never sticky announcements. You will pretend to pay him at least as much respect as you pretend to pay me. There is no other way.

Anyhoo... Speech! Speech! Speech! Speech! Speech!

Mercatore Uno is now moderator of the Sleague and PBEM forums. Also, because the gods of Apolyton are mean and don't like me gathering mods like some people gather stamps, they have demoted Techumseh, WarVoid, and DarthVeda.

Congrats Merc. Does this mean we have to read your announcements as closely as your utility readmes?

                Congratulations Merc.

Do Mark and Dan now split the site's profits with you?

If you want more excitment, why don't you abuse your powers and become a tinpot dictator? In the period before everbody leaves for CDG you can have the time of your life by correcting everybody's grammar and imposing bans for improper use of apostrophises .

Anyway, based on my experiance, the best kind of moderating is the kind where you do almost nothing. The worst kind is when you've got a lot to do: this inevitably means that you spend a lot of time arguing with nut jobs and smart-arsed 14 year olds.

Yes, it's fairly civilized here nowadays. We play nice; it's so civilized (no pun intended) here as to be boring sometimes!

I miss the Soundwave era. He certainly livened the place up with controversy, and made the moderators earn their money. I think they actually had to lock a thread that time!

What the hell?! I'm as surprised as you all are.

Well, um, great, I guess. Thanks! There isn't a whole lot to do here (luckily), but the occasional thread moving/topping of threads will come in handy.

And it looks like I can also post civgroup news, but I'll try to leave (most of) that to Harry Tuttle.

You don't have to expect any announcements from me yet either. But when I do...

If you need something to read, read this:

Just one thing though, I've hardly ever even visited the PBEM forum, and I don't really follow all of the scenario threads over here. So I think a more scenario-inclined civer would be more appropriate for that... I'd suggest someone, but I know too little about the PBEM forum to be able to even name anyone.

Now, let me just delete all those nasty "scenario" and "graphics" threads...

Does this mean we'll have to post in Hex from now on?

                      Congratulations Mercatore!

Good, I can hand a story or two off to you when I'm too sloshed to edit.

                          Congrats Merc.

Why don't you start with a nice little news blip about your recent "promotion"?
