black-clicking to find cities

The go to function (at sea) works for all ports; on land for the cities on that continent.
Hmmm maybe one of these games I'll start the offensive boat out, next turn followed by transport 1, next turn boat 2,... when the cruiser hits the shore the boat chain is loaded and...Those with lower expectations face fewer disappointments

I find black-clicking to be boring in the extreme, but have used it on rare occasion to uncover a missing AI city in early conquest mode (SP).
I don't use it to define landmasses or pick a route for my triremes, but will click above an exposed shoreline to see if it's a new continent (2-continent trading strat).
In MP, it's a different story. Anything within RahRules is fair game, and you can be damned sure your opponents are using it!Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

And my apologies, i thought i was hitting reply with quote and hit edit on your original post, hence the modified by rah tag on your post. I set it back to the original.

RAH, so far as I know, this is completely straightforward. If a city is listed in the Wonders F7 or the Biggest Cities F8, I guess the game treats it as such a famous city that everyone knows where it is. You can use Find City, and it will be listed, even if you've never found it. And if you click on the city on that list, the map will center on it, even if it's centering on an entirely black screen for you. And then if you right-click on the center of the screen, you'll have coordinates that are pretty much accurate. Is that what you've tried and found not to work?

Yes, I tested it again last night, and opened the find city window, and those cities were not listed. It must be a version issue. I hope it is, or I'm just plain stupid. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Didn't realize this was WoW-driven. I'm pretty sure it works on my MGE (mac), but I'll try it again this weekend to make sure...

Just a quick comment - in SP on my copy of MGE I can find all WoW cities, but not all those listed in the top 5.

Yes, I've just verified SG's findings in SP in MGE. Wonder cities are on the list, Top 5's are not. I'm sure I was confused by the fact that after a certain point, Top 5 cities usually have Wonders in them. Don't know what's up with your game, RAH. Have you tried it in SP in MGE?

So, rah, perhaps you should try a reinstall of the game, if you can't get these results under SP. In multiplayer mode, for PC, maybe this element/bug/feature was removed.

The only games I've tested it on started as MP games. Even in SP mode it doesn't work when I load old MP games. Reload the game, being an old IT man, if it ain't broke, don't screw with it.
But I would love it if someone could verify that they could do it in an MP game. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Top 5 cities:
I think they are evaluated like your Civ2 final score (happy citizen=2 points, content=1, wonder=20 points; see Info:Statistic thread). If 2 cities have an exact number of points the the older one is higher in the list.Civ2 "Great Library Index": direct download, Apolyton attachment
