I tried out the new beta of Battle for Middle-Earth 2. It was awesome.
But that's RTS, nothing beats good old civ2.

The news is that it won't happen.
We have to put our faith on Catfish in this case. He uses a superior engine, Test of Time, and he uses the best ME map I've ever seen.
