More boredom. Trade goes out and nothing happens until...
Greek Coup d'Etat Triggers Massive Civil War
Today, October 30, a group of Greek Generals, led by the infamous Colonel Marco Helen, attempted to overthrow elected Hellenic government of Premier Pericles Achilles.
Citing their chance to form a new Hellenic Empire, and the enchroachment of the Soviet Union on Turkish territory, which he claimed for Greece, he led a coup. The claim to Antalya derives from the efforts of his political ally, Heracles Aphrodite, who attempted to annex from the end of the Great War until 1922, when he was forced from office in elections.
The king of Greece was in London at the time, and quickly conferred with King George VI, Prime Minister Churchill and British military leaders, and is expected to ask Commonwealth troops to restore order.
However, most of the northern areas of the kingdom quickly fell to the fast moving juggernaut of Colonel Helen, and a division approached Istanbul. Only Crete appears solidly loyal. Two British Naval Battle Forces, intending to make a port o'call on November 1 in Pireaus, anchored outside the port awaiting orders.

Italy intervenes in Greece by sending the ICS Vittorio Emanuele to Athens. Nothing else happens except Hitler looking interested to France where the french Capital is shaken by riots. Should France have severe problems and need help then do nit hesitate to ask usCeterum censeo that trade units are included!!

The King of Greece has just left 10 Downing Street, and while he has refused to speak with reporters, other sources are already reporting activity.
In Crete, our sources inform us that a group of British ships off the coast have received a seaplane, presumably from the RAF or RNAC. According to rumors, on board was a series of military advisors who will land in Iraklion to train an army for the king and Pericles Achilles, who, although under house arrest, supposably was liberated by police forces in Athens and is now believed to be on Kastellorizon Island, a small island about 80 miles east of Rhodes, now under Turkish protection.
Larissa has suffered the brunt of the rebel forces in the past 12 hours, as rebel forces raced through the city, rounding up loyalists, and executing them, mostly without even determining whether the accusations against them were true or not. According to rebel officers, almost 1,000 "traitors to Greece" were excected.
However, despite the slowdown in Larissa to eliminate those loyal to the Greek government, the rebel war machine advanced and, in Thessaloniki, the Mediterranean Hellene Republic was declared. With representatives from every department but Canea, Rethymne, Iraklion, Lasithion, and Doecanese in in attendance, the constitution, remarkably similar to the Hellenic Kingdom's, except for eliminating the king and giving the power to ask for war to the President, who also would serve as commander-in-chief and be elected by Parliament.
Soon afterward, using the new constitution, an interim president and prime minister were elected, Jason Paakilies and Menelaus Percial respectively, neither of whom were expected, and are believed to be simply efficient bureaucrats to manage Greece until elections can be safely held without offending people who are anti-monarchists, and not just pro-empirists.
The Mediterranean Republic's 1st and 2nd divisions, invading Turkey has finally become bogged down. Having gone almost 80 miles without effective resistance, at Gallipoli, where our armies became trapped, a brigade was trapped when the small Turkish Navy transported 3 regiments across the Dardanelles, 1 to reinforce their positions of the Northern Dardanelles Guards, charged with defending Gallipoli. Then, the 2 other regiments landed at the neck to cut off the one brigade. By nightfall, the Greeks had broken through, destroying all four regiments in the area. However, they were weakened, and large scale reinforcements had reached Istanbul, and clashes between Turkish forces and Greek forces were sporadically occurring on the outskirts of the city.
A high, unnamed source in the Soviet Union, told the New York Times that Soviet agents were supplying the Mediterranean Republic in order to create a crisis to give them a reason to move in to Turkey and later Greece.

A source has informed us that Mediteranean Republican Army has overrun Istanbul and that the Islamic Republic of Turkey will deliver the surrender of Western Turkey by the afternoon. Also, according to this source, they may apply to become a Soviet Socialist Republic should Britian support the crown. This report is unconfirmed.
However, in a shock to most throughout Greece, a third group declared its own government, in what was thought to be a stronghold of the King. In Crete, a new nation was declared. A number of Creteans declared the Republic of Crete to be in existance. Sporadic clash occurred, but in all of them Crete was victorious. Much of the monarchy now fleed to Rhodes, the last bastion of monarchy. This was followed by the Republic of Crete applying to join the British Commonwealth, and publicly requesting troops to land there and support them.Vote Democrat
