Would you prefer we finish off the tech tree by 1875 as was happening in the CFC game? There's no other option, other than maybe changing the number of turns per year so it's realistic.

we are not going to have this discussion all over again, are we?
And if Academia wants to bail out, he's got every right, and I commend him for doing it fast.
It's not like we signed up for an altered imp1870 V.2 from the start, and if he discoveres he doesn't like the new settings after two turns, give him a break. The game has barely started."post reported"Winston, on the barricades for freedom of speech

Ill play the turn when we find a bona fide replacement.
Let me know, until I am going into Mode*"Winning is still the goal, and we cannot win if we lose (gawd, that was brilliant - you can quote me on that if you want. And con - I don't want to see that in your sig."- Beta

Welcome! Glad this one is moving again.
I have no diplomatic agreements with Academia.
I will play the turn today.*"Winning is still the goal, and we cannot win if we lose (gawd, that was brilliant - you can quote me on that if you want. And con - I don't want to see that in your sig."- Beta

This is the only diplomatic agreement Russia is involved in, and was posted on the first page of the thread.

That would be it then, Steve (conmcb25) has started the turn.
As the game is already on:
Triple Entente Announced
Earlier today, Secretary of State Elihu B. Washburne announced the creation of a grand alliance between the United States, France, and Russia. While many tenets of the pact were not released by the State Department, the pact's stated goal is expansion of the principles of democratic republicanism, as the governments of Napoleon III and Alexander II have promised massive democratic reforms within the next two years. Washburne has invited ambassadors from all nations to the White House to explain that the alliance is purely intended to be defensive and is not aimed at any states.*"Winning is still the goal, and we cannot win if we lose (gawd, that was brilliant - you can quote me on that if you want. To Yaroslav:
Japan was busy negotiating a trade agreement with the UK, as it has been with all other nations. The UK is free to deliver two units at Japanes ports. For additional units, an agreement on import taxes is wished.
So far, only a limited trade-agreement was reached with both France and Germany.
To Russia: we still await your answer to our proposals.
Turn:
Japanese goods reached San Fransisco.
Japan would be gratefull if the USA could send the Republican tech to Japan, either by civdip, or via online meeting.
Manilla secured, order returns to the city.Attached Files"post reported"Winston, on the barricades for freedom of speech

Sorry, didn't realize the game was moving again. Welcome aboard Yaro.
I'll post tommorrow, for some reason I can't find my civ2 CD (I just moved my stuff from Washington to Cincinnati again, so it may still be packed).
P.S. That new Poly redirecting stuff is killer on my 56k here.
