  • Impressive stuff on all fronts guys!

Now, a question. Does anyone have any tips or guides for working with vector graphics? I've been trying to get the hang of SodiPodi ( a very friendly svg editor) and have noticed svg offers a lot of benefits when it comes to scaling. But I need to get the hang of drawing isometric units/vehicles in svg. Help!
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

Bumping a sticky, Kobra? Anyway, isn't that what the showcases are for?

It looks like you're on your own, doesn't it? Most people here use either PSP or Photoshop, and raster graphics at that. I think I've only ever used vector graphics a couple of times and I can't even remember what that was for. Do you intend to create large scale mechanised units and later shrink them down to Civ2 size? BTW, I know nothing about this piece of software.

      • @ Catfish: As you're great at making units, I hope you don't mind if I use some of your units for a scenario I'm making. I'm making it for Civ2 MGE though, so I got help to convert them.

Why'd you bother asking? You went ahead anyway. Although you retained the sigs, you posted them all without a single reference to their origin.

I will request that you refrain from using some of them, notably the ones that I haven't posted at Apolyton – the understanding being that anything in the showcases here is free to use (with credit). The reason that I want to withhold the newer ones is that I'm working on WotR (ToT) again and I'd prefer their first release there. Of course, you had no knowledge of this - I didn't count on anyone using these units in a hurry. Favoured Flight has superb 8-bit versions of some of these anyway.

          • Okay, I understand you. But of course I would've credit you for them, they're not mine at all. I've answered your PM

Fair enough. I see you've edited your post over at CDG. I should clarify that, under normal circumstances, all of the graphics in the units, terrain and miscellaneous sections on my site are free to use without asking. The handful of LOTR units in question here is an exception to the rule. Basically, any confusion over their usage is my fault for posting them in the units section in the first place, but since you asked...

                • Nice work with the Matildas Catfish Not sure how I missed these until now, but I'll be sure to spend plenty of time sitting and admiring them

The shading on them is perfect - you've made the best civ tank graphic I've seen.

                        • @ Curt: I hope I can try myself on that Tiger today - if not you have to wait until tomorrow.

I am not too happy with the turret of the Pershing yet. Btw, do you want a soldier looking out of the cupola?
