i was really well off with trading techs. it turned out that the AIs had pretty much everything different from others.
it took me quite a lot of combinations and i gifted techs around so brennus and ragnar were willing to trade, but caught up about 5 techs or so in these 2 turns. in average i traded 2 against 1. 2nd round i came back and got other 2for1s.
just wang kon was so far ahead (i'm up to par now) that he did not want to trade. he's got a really decent GNP! but not surprising, being financial and having so many sea tiles. of course his mfg is pretty miserable

Yes, this week I have to get up early.
Yep, spotted your second round of tech trades. Seems you got a tech from Wang I traded with him the turn before.

iirc wang didn't trade with me. i must have got it from another AI player. hm, 2nd round was masonry and priesthood. as you don't have masonry you mean priesthood, right? that was a dirt cheap tech. i think i traded it for sailing to another AI civ.

even with 3 cities he has by far the highest in GNP. but as long as he and ragnar are fighting, i can focus my defences on the chinese and the evil zulu

I'm literally surprised Brennus is so high in score (despite the religions he spawned). Just scouted his lands and they are really marginal.
(btw, what happened with that warrior of yours you moved towards the Celtic area? Never saw it coming back...)

Sorry for the quite intermittent turns today, got quite a few domestic chores to do. Delayed them until the last possible moment during the weekend so...
Yeah, my Impi's are *definitely* keeping an eye on Brennus...

the problem is that i have nothing else to build. barracks, granaries and libraries are mostly done and wonders are too expensive. so units for the time being.
don't worry, as soon as i can build forges, theatres, markets and so on, i'll stabilise my army size
