are you not researching at all? you're clocking +250gpt and have summed up money to way over 5k! that's a lot of upgrades, but no techs to upgrade to

if you remember earlier on in this thread, we had agreed not to play fully ally-style because then the AI would be even less of a challenge (i'm dominating in techs, wonders and MfG; you seem to be faring very well in terms of conquering, lands, and allies).

i don't think the game would be fun if i just hand over the techs just like that... or don't you agree?

ps: and just for sake of completion: my big gold pool is because i don't have any upgrades, have been getting around +100gpt for a long time and early on had two cash-bombs.

that's why i'm beelining to democracy, so i can finally spend this money on rushes in the cities i have conquered

i had completely overestimated the cost of my empire when i was aggressively spreading judiasm and my two alternative religions. had i known that even 100% science would lead to +100gpt, i would have attacked my neighbors earlier

I'm ok for allies, but land to spread into is a bit short now without attacking people who love me! (But still won't give me techs )

first turn on the new hyper-power-dell-XPS PC i've got... the notebook just was getting too slow on these sizes!

I just got offered a trade.

I give Printing Press and 3,000 gold in exchange for Astronomy (which rates at 2,000 beakers). This was from people who are 'Pleased' with me.

I don't understand why no AIs want to trade fairly with me in this game, it's causing real problems keeping up in techs now.

i have also been having to trade at really bad terms and for quite some time have not even managed to get anything. i think i got gunpowder last and had to pay printing press, divine right and another smaller tech.

interesting is that mansa musa actually offered to be a vassal state against cyrus. i had paid my neighbors to fight a land war because they were both strong and i was focussing my units on alexander. now fortunatly my units had just arrived home and i was ready to help mansa wreck some cyrus units when he offered my vassal state status.
