        • Both sent to lump.
I'm afraid this is probably one of the last times to send on SA,

It's been a great year guys.

Hopefully JJ will be a little closer game. It'll make it more fun for all of us.

Yes it'll be interesting to see how I fare away from sabre advice and frequent taking over of my empire. I note that I am bottom of the rankings in JJ

                • Sabre is a mad man when it comes to roads and railroads. I think he thinks they still bring +1 gold like in earlier Civs...

                  • aebbeka, well, i do railroad a bit much. but only when my workers are idle.

in your case for instance, your infantry could not get from moscow to the central city because there was no direct road. so shortest path was 4 tiles. these are the situation where it pays to have everything roaded (not that it'll make a difference in the big picture )

one thing which is mostly worth roading is mines on hills. because you'll save a turn of your worker getting up there when you want to railroad. the same for forests...

                    • putting railroads everywhere makes the countryside ugly

i think you get a production bonus for railroading mines and forest-chopping places though

                        railroads are ugly indeed....
but don't forget that switzerland has a railway station for nearly every village over 2000 people or so. we have the by far the highest density of railtracks worldwide besides city-states such as singapore...
