i resent it after my last post but this time no answer...
he hasn't been active on the board for quite some time. maybe he is on holidays... let's give him some time

I'm surprised, too. On the other hand, he's been playing very regularly up to now. So I guess we wait until next weekend, then see what happens (or doesn't happen).
I'd just like to say that my strategy of being far behind everyone else was just about to pay off, and as such we should just declare me the winner - then go ahead and start a new game.
Are we worth saving at this point? If we pick up the game in a week or so, that means nobody has played (or looked at the game) in a month and a half - that's a pretty big re-learning curve...
i don't really see that as a problem at this stage of the game.
so we have the options:
a) booting out vovan: pro - immediate contination possible; contra - he might come back which would be a shame
b) start a new game without him. pro - immediate contination possible; contra: new start
c) wait. pro - if he comes back, no harm done; contra: he may not come back
i am for a combination of B and C. we start a new game without him and stall this one until (if) he comes back...

I like that idea, Sabrewolf. I thought we had a pretty good chemistry going until the delay happened, and it would be a shame to split up a good group...
I'd prefer waiting, too. But the problem is we don't know wether Vovan is just temporarily unavailable or has quit completely.
Here's a suggestion what we could do:
We give him another week, say until Monday morning. If he hasn't given notice 'til then, then we go on playing without him. We'd play the usual one turn per day, and if after that he returns unexpectedly, then we could always rewind the game to the point where we lost him. We would only have to replay a couple of turns in that case. After another week without him giving us a sign of living (ie after about six or seven new turns) he would be out completely - it would then be three and a half weeks, and he could really not blame us then.
