What's it with George's insistence of not trading gunpowder with Dauphin?

I don't want optics or astronomy at the moment. We are on an the major land mass why do I need galleons. I am havent built wnough univercities to move onto observatories. I have no whales in my borders. When I need any of the above I will trade ok. I am hoping he will get a better tech and I can trade with him them. Is that ok?

It's only delaying the inevitable I think. You can't pass Physics without either of those techs. Chances are you will have to come up with two techs to "pay" for a real expensive one. Besides, if I'm not mistaken it is cheaper for Egypt to build observatories then Universities. And you don't need universities in order to build observatories.

the mongol empire regrets to communicate that it has seen the necessity to take action against the evil english trade union. our first two of four waves have entered english lands and fought their first battles.

to the english we wish to apologise for this "slight" inconvenience. but you also brought it upon yourselves. placing those barely defended cities right at the border was too much of a tempting honey pot. also, staying pacifist but techwhoring away was just too much of a provocation. in this tough world you must always find a balance between economic and military power.
