dacole, i think that when the game stops (for whatever reason), the timer should be upped to 24 hours again. the reason being that it might be down during somebody's time slot.

in this turn keygen might not be able to make either of his teams' turns due to this (we'll only know in 4.5 hours, but then it could be too late)

During peacetime that's fine, but during wartime that's probably a poor idea... you risk modifying results that way (changing strategy based on knowledge of battle results). A better idea is to reload it in such a way that everyone can play, but still reloading from the most recent autosave... that's what I do in most of my other PTBS games anyhow.

no, i don't mean reloading the first turn of the round! as you said, one should continue with the latest available autosave. but just give 24 hours on the timer with that save.

in this case keygen would have managed to play his turns and we would have only used 4 hours more...

I do not believe that we CAN arbitrarily change the time left on the counter from an autosave (or any save for that matter)...unless someone knows of some trick to this that I'm not aware of...

Indeed. Changing the timer in any fashion is not possible except in BtS; and in BtS you can only change the time for the next turn.

i never hosted a Pitboss game, but i did once load a pitboss save and remember being able to set the timer.

and in another game i am in, they temporarily changed one turn to 72 hours...

oh well...

Again, in a BtS game, it is possible to set the timer for all future turns, but not in a warlords game, and not for the current turn (or at least, not without significantly hacking the save, which is nearly impossible).

WAR AGAIN!

interesting... it seems as though geo and snoopy are going to pick off one team after the other. they have just captured a city of my teammate's and have boatloads of units coming closer.
and due to keygen's capitulation, we are automatically at war with 4 civs... not a nice thing

so a warning to the world: once they are done with my team (persia/mali): be prepared to be attacked as next.. build up your defences, your countermeasures, your sea perimeter, etc.

and if you can lend us a hand before that, we would very much appreciate your help in delaying their victory! thanks

I had just got connected, and then Geo was joining, and then the game went 'kaboom'. Or maybe that was Geo attacking.

Anyways - can't connect to the game now.

civstats says that geo has had a bunch of log-ins and -outs. i'm guessing he had problems there (or is trying to exploit some bug? )

When I logged in, ToxoXI was online. I lost connection several times during my play. Don't know about him. Essentially my turn is played, but I lost connection again (and for good this time) before I could press end turn.
Will attempt to end my turn now.

Edit: yep, it worked. Ready for some countermoves.

oh great... my one and only attack and then i go and lose a 98% victory chance battle

When you least expect it, that 2% chance of losing will bite you in the a$$ everytime (or more times than I think should occur).
