I have too, two days ago, but no answer till now... I remember he asked if having a cable connection gives a fix IP. Does anybody know that? I would say yes, but I'm not sure at all... -
In my experience with cable it is a dynamic IP (not static).
There is a program you can use to lockdown your ip so it doesn't change. Check out Snoopy's guide, it should give the details in there.Comment

That's what I have and it's worked like a charm. You just install a service on your computer that periodically updates your DNS entry with your current IP, and it's set

Hi and welcome Provi. Can we just wait a bit. dacole is supposed to host (and be my partner), but I sent him a PM 3 nights ago, and as of this moment, he has not opened it. It also indicates that he has not been on-line in 3 and half days. Which has me worried a bit about him hosting. Perhaps Aro should take this on. I vote for 1 as I don't know many of the people here and likly the best people would get together to play if we choose 2. As for getting it started works for me I have all my new computer parts and hope to be setting it up and getting it working today or tomorrow.
sigh three days and your already freaking out....heh. If aro has more experience hosting by all means let him I have never hosted or played a pitboss game before. I will try to be around more often sorry about that. Today is a tough day in my work (It’s a common practice in journalism… We have to make two editions, one for Saturday and the other for Sunday – that means two cartoons), and I have a dinner (girlfriend's birthday) tonight… So, Friday is not the best day to begin. To me, at last…
But tomorrow I’ll be ready for the game!
What I have to do is read this thread with attention, and figure out all that pitboss stuff. Piece of cake… I hope!

dacole - we are still up for having you hoist it if you want to. The more folks who get up to speed on this, the better for the community. Let us know. It is not that big a deal, other than you have to have your comp run ning 24/7, and you sort have to keep an eye on it from time to time.
