The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

Aro, Pitboss takes about 40mb (that's been running for two days, so no doubts about it behaving itself) and CivStats takes about 8mb. It hangs out at 1-2% CPU power usually.

I would think that we should go through GameSpy ... but that is just my take on it, being rather inexperienced with the whole PitBoss thing.

I'll confirm my choice shortly too... I'm pretty undecided yet! I'm planning to play a couple of starts with different civs tonight, and see how I go...
I've been raped recently in a PBEM game, without any warning, and I really should pick a civ with strong defenses rather than the Ottos...

Well, I already will host a pitboss game, but I can host another in other computer, if necessary.
