[PBEM] Vovan and Grandpa Troll vs. The World

Starting research on Combustion so we can get airplanes at some point soon.

Healing troops at Athens and Cumae.

Contacted Caesar just to see what he would give us for peace but he refused to even talk to us. (I figure we might want to make peace with the Greeks just before we exterminate them to get their techs, if that's possible, for they wouldn't be a threat afterwards any way.)

Transporting troops to the new Greek city in the new world.

Also, we are waaaaay back on technology. I suggest it might be a good idea for you, President Troll, to start researching something, else we stand to be hopelessly outteched by Hatty and Fred.

And speaking of those... German cities are quite close to Thermopylae. I think when we take it, it might get enveloped by German borders entirely. And we don't want that to happen, so of course there would be only way out of that.

We are starting to move troops towards Boston in hopes of retaking it. The fact that it is sitting against German borders, however, is disheartening, the only hope is that the culture preserved from our previous posession of the city will be enough to keep it from flipping.

I just noticed either a Glitch or a very nice reality

you and I can share same square with troops

North of the city of Antium u had an Infantry there
we both shared same tiles
will make it awesome when attacking a major stronghold

Nope, not a glitch. Feature. Civs that aren't at war can occupy the same tile with troops, and can even put troops in each other's cities (with open borders).

Corinth falls. Next turn, I suspect Boston will be ours, and so might Knossos, which would mean the only Greek city worth taking then would be Thermopylae. Looks like Romans are down to only two cities, as well: Rome and Pisae. It can't take long for them to fall either, I give Rome three turns tops, with all the Troll's troops rolling towards it.

you should be able to rebase your air units into each others cities

Many things to report this turn. And I finally have time to do so, instead of just saying "blah captured".

So, first of all, check out these poor souls sent by Alexander to settle the new world. We make short work of them, of course. Ooh, free worker.

Next is a glimpse of Knosses under siege by American troops.

And of course, a wee bit later, Knossos is ours. No losses.

Next on the order of business is revenge for that very first war they declared on us. We want Boston back!

And we get it back at the loss of two infantrymen. I could have waited one more turn, taken city defences down even further and probably taken no losses regaining the city, but let me tell you this: our citizens will not suffer the oppression of a foreign rule a moment longer than necessary.

As you can see, there are still some Americans left in the city (though that may be counting the troops now ), and there is also some culture, so hopefully we will be able to keep the city and not have it gobbled up by German culture. It would be terrible if that happened, for then we would have to declare war on our friends the Germans!

(Not like we are not going to do it any way. )

Using the well-developed German railroad system, we send some troops through their territory towards Thermopylae to start the bombardment. The city is well-protected... But even that protection is not going to save them.
