indeed, you are surprisingly far behind! i guess not your religion enough early on was a big mistake.

i was generous with hannibal: literature for the +4 benevolence, then open borders... and then drama+music+80g for civil service. i figured i'd trade before you do

but you're lucky, your continent is really far away - no chance of invasion...

We received free religions, so nothing to do about that. Just bad luck that Hanni took Theology before me, otherwise he would have been my friend and ally for life... 4 meagre turns!

And since Hanni doesn't want to trade with me anyway there was no need to be so generous... He outsmarted you on this trade.

mr. ragnar got his own religion, i had to convert 3 of his cities before he turned... i had to stay godless until then. and had to gift him stuff to get open borders.

anyhow, that is the past, maybe in the re-rematch we'll have a different situation

Converting Hannibal wasn't an option, he ran Theocracy whenever we had open borders.

I'm simply no match for you.
You can't possibly have traded 3-4 techs with Ragnar, or did you? Can't understand that big a tech advantage.
