What do you use the USB drive for? Do you have Civ4 installed on it or something?

i always take my 12" notebook with me to work. as it is forbidden to connect the machine to our network, i always brought a USB stick to transfer the file. but now they have installed all kinds of big brother tools....

it's the classic developer VS system engineer. they (the infrastructure guys) like to close down everything before they think of the downsides and we (developers) don't like that because we (think we) know enough to have full permissions and still keep everything safe.

floopy disk? havn't seen that for 3 years and havn't used it this century i think
burn a CD to transfer a single file? i don't think so (besides, we don't have CD roasters, also data theft precaution)

i might try to find an open WLAN network, but the university's things are unfortunatly not reachable from here (despite being quite close, there's an ugly building inbetween...)
