Claus - I'm still a novice in the game... I'd love a bit of insight on how you shot forward like that so quickly??
It's very simple - in these early stages of the game a difference of 15 or 20 points has no meaning at all. Eg, if you happen to find a tech in a barbarian village or if you build a new city then this alone might let you jump forward. From what I have experienced some kind of solid leadership requires being at least 150 points ahead.
I see you heathen people still feed your own population to Animal Gods. Maybe you should try Buddhism.
Seriously, are the beasts tougher to deal with on higher difficulty levels or was it just bad luck? I would like to know because there's a wolf outside my city waiting for my attention.
Canuck: Scandal. There should be a default paragraph in work contracts guaranteeing free time for playing CivIV.
Agreed! And what's worse, the entire management team here except for 1 or 2 people is from the EU (Austria, primarily, but also Germany and England). For shame!
Claus, the animals definitely get harder on higher difficulty levels, because on lower ones you get better bonuses against them. However, in my case, it was purely bad luck. Had a warrior in the woods. The lion should totally have been toast.
That's ok, though. The random number generator hasn't given me any love for the past couple of days... I slaughtered half of my army the other day in this one game... Every single one died with 65%+ odds of winning. It was quite a sad sight.
