New Pitboss Game

PTBS works like playing a multiplayer game, except you have a day to fiinsh your turn instead of a minute. So it's really more like a PBEM game in that you have tones of time to diplomify and such.

But you connect to it exactly like a multiplayer game.

Rome... hmmm. I hesitate to start "banning" nations, then again the thought of a legion of Pratorians lead by someone with as many Apolyton medals as you Beta is quite unsettling.

If you want Rome go for it. I tend to think that if your legions grow to too much of a threat, this threat will be percived by ALL your neighboors and defence pacts will be signed.

*Knows full well that in reality neighboors will watch each other fall while saying to themselfs "better him then me" while they race to gunpowder.*

One other change i would propose is that we use epic instead of standard. Any thoughts on this for pitboss? Although i have lots o' multiplayer exp this will admittedly be my first pitboss game.

Aro, you never stated what civ you would like to have ... are you keeping it a secret?

For the record, I am opposed to epic. I thing regular/normal is fine for a MP game.

And I agree - lets toss the Romans.

btw - I have invited a few other folks - the crazy Fins - Flamer and uni - to the game. Can we wait just a bit more. They are pretty regular turn players.

And Aro - you may indeed host more than one. In this manner, having snoopy in the game will be good., he is already hosting a game. The more hosts we can develop, the better for the community.

In fact, if I wasn't on the cusp of a winter move to Florida, I would be volunteering as well.

What exactly are the requirments of a pitboss host? I do plan on using CivStats for tracking. Anything else i should know? My understanding of being host is that you pretty much get peeps together and start a pitboss game. From the sounds of it, there may be more to it that i am just not aware of.

Anyhow, the game will start very soon. When picking nations please remember only one of each empire. Romans have been banned.

I don't think you can host more than one, unless you have two computers, sorry ...

There are no requirements other than having your computer on 24/7 And running the pitboss and civstats applications, of course.
