Built a couple settlers this turn, and a few other things. Libraries, Courthouses and more settlers under way throughout. By the time Hatty and Fred get to the new world, they should find that it is already well-developed.

Researched Economics (so I can now switch to Free Markets for nice trade profits ) and founded San Francisco. This new city must have popped some sort of city maintenance by numbers cap, because our profits instantly plunged by... 25 gpt. Surely, San Francisco isn't that bad. Something tells me further expansion might put a little bit of a strain on the economy. Oh well, we shall soon have enough courthouses to allow the building of a Forbidden City in Cimmerian, which should further cut our maintenance by distance from capital costs.
What we really need is bunches of workers to improve the land.

Replacable parts coming soon.
I have to go work on a project with a group though. We shall continue if you are still around when I'm back. But we've made some good progress today already.

LA is founded by some pigs and iron. This reminds me I was going to post some pictures at 1800, but forgot. So here are some now for 1810.
First of all is the old world. Notice how originally my civ was stretched in a thin NW-SE line with Boston, NY, Washington, Philadelphia, and now it is a nice roundish blob: Sparta, Delphi, Pharsalos, Washington, Neapolis, Philadelphia. Expansion plans for the next war are to get Athens first to cut their nation in half (we can ships some troops in on galleons for a quick surprise invasion), and then move up to Thermopylae, Boston and New York. Hopefully in the mean time, Grandpa can keep ol' Caesar occupied at Antium or Pisae, or maybe even Rome!

And this here is the new world. You can see Grandpa's settlements in the north, and mine on the border between the two continents in the south - controlling the "panama canal".
And then on the eastern coast, what's that? A new barb town? Ooh boy, I didn't even notice it untill I was going to take the screenshot. I immediately send out troops to get it. It's protected by three longbowmen. It's in one of the few nice locations in the central part of the northern continent there, as you can see, much of the rest of it is covered in deserts. There are some cows just west of the city.
What's up, I hear you say, with Seattle? Yes, it's size 2, and yes, it's not growing any more. I really wanted to settle that chunk of the desert ok? Seriously, the city controls two copper resources and a stone. Plus, as soon as I get a lighthouse in there (queued up after courthouse), it will start growing again and will be a nice fishing village. Plus, I will make a string of irrigation from the river at LA, and farm some land there to the east of Seattle. So yeah, don't worry, it might not be as useless as it is now in a few turns.

And this here is the score graph for the past 100 turns. You can see where we lost Boston and later on the hit we sustained by losing New York (which was almost offset by us capturing the two Greek cities, but not quite, I think).
Also notice that Grandpa is by far no cellar-dweller any more. At this rate, he'll pass Freddy right about when I catch up with Hatty (that is, by the end of the next war ), and then the first place will be rightfully ours!

Finally, here you see the demographics. Even with the golden age going, we are far behind in GNP. This isn't helping our research rate any. On the other hand, we are doing pretty good on production, so we can pump out more units faster (of which we already have more, btw), so with some smart warfare, we should be able to vanquish our foes.

Well, this here now is the last turn of the Golden age. Many builds complete. It was a golden age well-spent.
