    To Incan

    November 20th

    Dear friends,

We have read your friendly letter with pleasure.
It seems like both our great civilizations have a common love for technological advancement and a common hate for troubles.
Let us do like you proposed and share knowledge about tech paths so that we can mutually benefit from eachother.

We accept your peace proposal and it's initial endurance.
Lately we have run into the Zulu civilization and haven't been able yet to exchange communications with them.
May we ask you to share your experiences with these Zulus from far away? Some of our people fear that these backwards people may be preparing an invasion army with the sole purpose of destruction out of envy of both our far more advanced civilizations. We will keep you posted.

    Kind regards,

    Sir Rho Berth

Chief foreign Advisor of our beloved Queen Lizzy

    To Us

    October 28th

We thank you for you friendly warning.

Regrettable, the scout, who was tasked with delivering the warning
message to our council was so scared by the panther that he missed the
way and did not find it back in time. We have received this message
    just now.
The scour in question was thrown into the panther cages for training purposes.

The Incan nation greets their neighbours and pays them the respect
that your ambassador has paid us.
Our emissary comes in peace and strives to expand his knowledge.

The wise men of the Incas have asked the gods to unveil their will.
The Oracle has spoken and revealed its wishes to them:
Your people and our people are growing and multiplying, and the
children of our peoples are to grow up without fear until our time
repeats itself for the hundred-fiftieth time since the start of the
    world.
The Inca people respect the will of the Gods and wish to know whether
    the Ottomans think alike.

The Ottomans are not the only people we have encountered in these
unknown lands but they are by far the friendliest.

Both Ottomans and Incas are diligently inventing new technologies.
However, they do not do this independently because each accomplishment
of the one nation will cast a shadow on the other.
The shadow can be of utmost importance, and if it is coordinated and
arranged, it can be beneficial for both parties. Are the Ottoman
scholars willing to discuss this with our astrologers?

It would be wise to share knowledge in order to get to know this
foreign world quicker and better and to stand our ground. So what do
the Pashas of the Ottomans say on this?

Our mail to Inca / CivDe:

Sent by Calanthian. This was actually in September.

Bellerophon adresses the first Incan citizens he meets:

"Let me say it is a pleasure for me to be here near the sacred Gondar mountain and meet your proud civilization. Such a sacred place must surely be a good sign. It is a particular pleasure that we should have this meeting with your elders because we heard many stories about the Incan spirit of scientific curiosity, your beautiful works of art and your economical ability.

We like to develop our civilization side-by-side with yours and start a fruitful relationship which brings mutual progress. Furthermore we like to safeguard regional security and stability, and promote trust and coordination between the Incan and Apolytan nations. "

His scribe tries his best to translate Bellerophon's word into the diffcult Incan tongue:

        Reply from Inca:

The Incan people have listened with pleasure and relief to the well-spoken words of Bellerophon, the great Apolytan hero.
He speaks words of wisdom, which sound nicely in our ears..
We did not dare to expect to meet neighbors so well versed in the arts of diplomacy and look forward to the time where a fruitful relationship between our great nations will help us both to escape the dark ages and bring prosperity to us all.
As a sign of mutual trust we kindly ask for the permission to send one of our people to your homelands in a peaceful mission.
He will show you the respect which you showed to us and after his return by the shoreline he shall tell us of the many wonders and accomplishments your nation will surely have built by then.

To the people of the Incan Empire,

With pleasure we have read your kind response.
We, the Apolytan people, seek trade, friendship and trust with our neighbors. Therefore you are most welcome to visit our cities. Please bring goods for trading. As a gesture of our long-term friendly intentions we offer you to not aggressively expand into your direction.

Also sent at the same time Oct 5th.

            Dear Incan Neighbors,

We have a message of high importance for you!
Please be aware that near your city of Worms a group of dangerous panthers is hunting!
Your group of Quecha warriors, located south-west of Worms, will be within their hunting zone if it moves to the south, the west or the south west.

Our group of warriors are fortifying themselves as we speak on the hills near Worms to protect your city against these panthers.
We will inform you as soon as we have neutralized the danger.

                    Here is draft new communication.

Our dear friends of the Inca,

It has been some time since we last were in contact. We didn’t wish to distract you while you were engaged in a war. We are pleased that you came out of the conflict strong and are now turning your attention to growth and learning.

We write because our chariot explorer has happened upon an Incan settler heading west. You will by now be familiar with our land so perhaps it is time to agree boundaries between our teams so that we can avoid disputes in the future.

For your information we have advanced plans to settle on a stone hill , 8 tiles west of your settlers current position.

It seems to us that the stretch of desert to your west and to our east would form a natural boundary between our two civilizations. What do you think?

We look forward to hearing from you.
                    i

Looks good. I take it they're trying to settle the area between our two empires? Is there any way we can snatch the stone before they do?

Maybe we could recommend a spot to them where they could get both the rice and the wine but still give us enough room to get the stone? Or would that seem presumptuous? We really want to get along with them as they have a much larger army than we do.
