Anyone who is not playing anymore should go to AI at this point. Neandor has only played 2 of last 12 turns, and I think the player said he quit so Neandor should go to AI. Natives player has only played 2 of last 15 turns and he just dropped out, so they should be AI, too. Arabia also quit, and he had only played 1 of last 5 turns, so they should also go to AI. Meanwhile we can look for subs. Its easier to find subs for civs that are actually open for the taking, because there is no need to get passwords.

I have not been playing the turns as Germany, as taking over a nation while there is no point in the game just doesn't feel right..
(I've put long term building orders in, and that was it..)
I have sent all players around me messages, I have had only a reaction from the Vikings a few days ago.
I am always in for a committed game, no matter what condition my nation is in, but if even France and Arabia are not playing activily, and about 50 % of the other players are not that committed; what is the point in taking over a nation? ..
This I said repeatedly on the forum.
But in this game there are just too much uncommitted players..
Let's start a new game!Last edited by Germany (DoE); November 17, 2011, 12:11.The question of whether modern humans and Neanderthals mated when they encountered each other 40,000 years ago is highly controversial.

Hey, I responded to you so many times in the org thread - you said you are afraid, I said there is nothing to be afraid of, you say you dont like your position - well, you are getting nation number 3 - what would have made you content? You said no one is responding to you with diplomacy - you never sent me a single message. I can understand something inside you died with the Azteca civ, but after all we even made a deal - you promised to play the game just I would play in Gods&Heroes.
Anyway, I'm OK with ending this game - I am times more inclined in finishing it, as we lack only 1/8 of the players - Natives and Zulu out of 16 civs - Azteca are eliminated and China will be so in 2 turns and we could have some fun in dividing Zulu and Natives and forming new alliances - I was going to steal techs from Inca and they may not liked it much, but if most of the players want the game to finish - I will go with the majority.
Can we also have the results from the last voting, Robert?

yea I am going to start just randomly attacking people at this point (maybe even Russia) as this game is so boring now that everyone is asleep or quitting. I guess I will start making lots of ultimatims and attack the first who refuses to obey... Anything is better than this tedium. War always gets creative story writin juices flowing so I guess turkey can be villain again for the good of the game.Mexico Emerges as a New Player on the International Stage - Mexico City Times

Heh, I had a dream the Ottomans were going to attack me, so that was prescient or something. Also, I did respond Germany, but I don't really care about this game much anymore either so it's half-hearted, yes. I have other creative enterprises currently underway, so I just don't have much time/energy for this game anymore, especially not with the spectacularly complicated relations and story-lines.
But, guys at what point are we just going to throw the towel in on this one? We could've been through the first 150 turns in a new game by now if we had just quit in early September... What are we really going to gain by continuing on here? It's obvious most of the players don't have much interest in this anymore. I'm getting tired of stating the obvious, and I don't want to be the pessimist, but this game has been done for months now.
There's this tendency people have to get attached to a goal and keep at it regardless of how increasingly hopeless it may be, rather than acknowledging that, hey, instead of climbing this mountain, there's a really nice hot spring over on that hill over there I can walk up in 5 minutes! Well, we could've been bathing in that hot spring for two months now instead of trying to climb a deadly, freezing rock face that we're fairly likely to fall off of regardless of our efforts. What's the point of this deadly climb, exactly?
Name a new scenario, I can start work on the map today. I have a relatively free week next week to finish it. I'm not doing a mod again, as I don't want to keep not pulling through on them, but the map is fine. We can also try out some of the new ideas we've had in that other thread.

if someone can figure out how it works on the pitboss - side (some mod must apparently be installed)
I'm not sure how many of you have an android device?

Sorry to see that the game has ended in this way, but I think you are right to end it. As an outside observor its been obvious that it was in terminal state for months, but I know that when you have invested so much in a game its hard to let go.
Maybe its too close for you guys to sensibly think if there were any weaknesses in the set up which contributed to this ending. But it might be worth asking, for the sake of the next one.
A few observations from me:
1. There seems to have been large fixed alliances, with the same nations being allied for a thousand years. Understandable in game mechanics but my guess is that this drains much from the game.
2. There seems to have been lots of pausing etc. with a relatively small number of active players determining the pace of the game by asking for pauses, pausing off their own initiative etc. which means that the 'suspension of disbelief' isn't there. Attention is on the real people organising the game, rather than on the in game play.
3. The storying has been amazing at times, but very uneven. Again, it feels as if a relatively small number of players have dominated it.
Do any of these things matter? I guess they do. Can anything be done for the future? The alliances is hard. Been some ideas elsewhere. Pauses - thats really a matter of discipline and expectations. Uneven storying, been all sorts of suggestions about limiting it in the past; not sure how it could work. In the end we need most people feeling like equal players, not observors of other people's exciting games. Maybe easier with fewer plays or Ozzy's swapping idea
