Well, the fixed number is there to make sure that everybody hands out the same ammount of votes.
If we make it a free number, some people may vote very low at avg and others very high. If your neighbours are generous that may give you better scores then if your neighbours aren't.

Now everybody is forced to spend the same. That's the big change compared to DoC.

Maybe the #20 is too low though (it was set as an example before we knew how many people would play)
Maybe we should make it #30 or #40....

    Let's vote on it!

How many points should we hand out during the voting?
    A. 20 (keep it as it is)
    B. 30
    C. 40

RP - sorry for delay. Please unpause now and I will go in. Egypt said he woudl be ready to play whenever, but obviously I wouldn't want him to miss his turn either.

I'm in the voting system now, but I don't really understand why there is a maximum of 20 points that you can give? If I find 4 people really good, and say, 4 others pretty good, then I have to give lots of others 0 points, even though I might want to give them a few points because they did post a few good things. Isn't it better to be able to give everybody as much as you want? I assume you did this because it somehow is necessary for the graphs you will be making showing the score, but I can't think of a mathematical reason why you need that maximum? The way the system works now seems unfair to me (I have to give less points to the ones I like best, just so I can give others a few points too).

PS of course, I really appreciate the work you put into this RP, don't get me wrong

    unpausing for Mongolia now.
    please be quick.

edit: people, I get e-mails on my mobile phone about the minute people post here so that I can act quickly. If you post a post like Mongolia above, please keep checking the thread if I already did something to help you! There are good chances that I actually did.

Now we're losing important minutes on the clock.
I have to pause again now, Mongolia, just post again if you're aware that I can unpause in a second.

I cannot enter the game, assume that is because it is paused, with very little time on the clock and not having moved for more than a day already, all I can hope is no barbs are showing up, have very limited time slots I can play in for another 24 hours, only several periods of 10 mins or so at best.

I'm sorry, I assumed that Israel was 2nd in turn order, so the turn timer only should need to be delayed for him.
Game is paused now. Just let me know when you're ready to play your turn. Send me a PM as well, and I'll then unpause.

There's 30 minutes on the timer. (thought it would be 1,5 hours.... I'm sorry)

@Israel: are you sure that you do not need to play your turn after Suleiman? If you do, make sure you are indeed available as you said in your last post.

But I requested a timer slow, and need it. I needed it when I asked for it. Be a few hours before I can play and because the turner wasn't extended as I asked, the turn will expire. I can't miss a turn in war.

Realise it was not extended by mistake (well I assume so) but we need it pausing etc.

No need to slow down the timer for me, I am almost able to play every moment of the day.
And I do not have anything to move for the next couple of turns anyway :*(
So even if I miss my turn nothing is lost.

Personally I frown on factually inaccurate postings. I guess that is what the vote is for.

IMHO everything is allowed. If it's believable is a 2nd thought.
I'd love it to see a good war where both involved parties claim victory

Forgive me if this is already covered somewhere.

Are there any rules regarding the truth of stories posted in the story thread? Where is the line drawn?

Propaganda about having a huge army I am pretty sure is ok, but is it ok to post flat out lies such as having say Knights when you don't even have guilds?

How about combat results? If a civ gets destroyed during a war, but posts that they had glorious victory is that ok? What about comprimises? If civA gave civB 3000 gold to sign peace, is it acceptable for civA to post that their enemy ran away scared with no offer?
