  • Baron Ozious kindly asks the two large powers in this conflict to take a break from their dick measuring to consult with their minor power buddies about the peace proposal that has been sent. Once again, I hope this war can be resolved without further bloodshed.

England, have you received the peace proposal? Have you reviewed it? Has Greece seen it? Arabia, have you seen it?

    • Baron Ozious,

I agree with your sentiment about peace without more bloodshed. I don't feel it is for me to consider any peace proposals between the Greeks and the Arabs - they are two independent nations who can, and I very much hope will, fix their own peace. I have had no involvement in this war, and will have no involvement in any Greek-Arab war. Truly I hope that the two of them find peace.

      • Menander read the offer again, after transcribing into Greek and handing to Rip:

        "The terms:
        1. Arabia keeps the two cities they captured from Greece.
        2. Arabia gives horses, dye, 6 workers, and perhaps some gold to Greece.
        3. Greece gets more colonies established in Africa"

        Rip read it now....

A third of Greece's homeland is devastated and just this offer, again with more behind the scenes threats and rumours about a world war and Greece's total destruction. He reached for his very pen and inked a brief world announcement as a responese.

"Free and cultured citizens of this world.

All are awaiting Greece's response to an offer of 'peace' from Arabia.

I say to you all that we reject it utterly.

A great and ancient friend invades us with no effort at dialog regarding any issues they have with Greece. A swift surprise attack that killed many Greeks and few Arabians. Greece is not interested nor capable of colonising the world. Our one colony is sufficient.

What Greece wants is her own homeland back and a chance to prosper within the original borders of old Greece.

As soon as I awoke from the thousand year sleep my first decision was to reduce Greece's cultural pressure on all bordering nations. All artists were redeployed and Greece is now focussed on building a newer and better Greece. in harmony with all her neighbours.

I urge the allies and friends of Greece to waste not a second more in time: England and Brittania, please capture the two cities taken from Greece as soon as possible. Do not let Arabian diplomacy cause us any hesitation. It is clear Arabia has no intention of returning these cities. The damage done to these cities by my allies recapturing them will cause me to put pressure on my allies to go even further into Arabia unless substantial reparations are paid for our losses. This will be over 1000 gold and will include other demands.

We are being played as the fool.

        Not any more.

I urge restraint from Justinian and please be fair and consistent about the right of allies to protect their friends.

        Good day to you all"

        • Rip van Greekle,

I respect your ability to make or decline peace as you wish. Greece has always been a brave warrior nation. This is between you and the Arabs.

The stated position of myself and more recently the persians that we will not see massive military technological powers intervene on one side of a war utterly imbalancing it remains.

I remain hopeful that you and the arabs can make a peace on whatever terms you can agree, or that failing that no major power will intervene triggering a world war.

            • Russia makes an offer

              To Greece and Arabia

We are overjoyed to see war in other lands, for only through battle can a man be his finest. As such, many of your people have learned strength and courage, one day you may all become soldiers of Muscovite caliber. Unfortunately, these great endeavours of war are costly and harmful for other development. Noone knows this better than Russia, for none has fought more or harder battles than us. We now suggest a way to encourage development once more.

It is clear to all that the Arabs need lands, and that the Greeks wish to keep theirs. As the world is well aware, Russia is at war with the Ottoman Empire, whose leader seems to have lost all sense and wisdom. Therefore, Russia sees no alternative but to conquer the Ottoman colonies in Africa. We have already seized Edirne and may well continue to conquer other colonies. We will put on the negotiation table as a gift, the colony of Edirne. Greece and Arabia can now perhaps easier come to an understanding with more gain involved.

Baron Ozious reminds the Greek leader that the peace offer sent did not come from Arabia. It came from Baron Ozious himself, now an independent statesman with no allegiance to any nation. Baron Ozious reminds him further that the terms of the offer did not call for more colonies to be established for Greece in Africa, but for existing colonies to be transferred to them. Established cities in another land. I'm sure other nations would be happy to throw in a galleon or two to transport Greek citizens between Africa and their homeland.

                  • England has just witnessed another Arabian attack! A 3rd Greece city has fallen.

Arabs didn't you say that you have pulled back? You just conquered another city. Are you really so arrogant and want to destroy a whole nation?

Byzantium where is the peace you say that both nations have at hand? We only see one eating slowly the other one.

England officially will join this war next cycle if the Arabs do not stop taking cities.

You have taken 50% of all of Greece and lied that you have pulled back.

To the other powers, we are shocked that you are ready to support the annihilation of an entire civilization and do nothing about it.

Where is the so called measured war?

Yes we have seen it, i do not know for the greeks or arabs. But as you can see Arabs are continuing their invasion with full force and just now have taken another city.

                      • Mecca Weekly - Greek Tragedy

                        Arabian Press 1420 AD

As Saladin returns to the helm after meditating and vacationing our acting regent was faced with issues requiring a defensive war. As the Greeks have rejected a cease fire proposal, Saladin had ordered the sons of Arabia to occupy the Greek cities in revolt to restore order. TsjoulaPoli has been occupied and renamed Tabuka.

A weak nation will only invite discord and other powers to take advantage of the situation, and thereby to threaten Arabia. Although Saladin is pained to take this offensive we have no choice with the advance of English Red Coats.

Arabian Camel shock brigades are gathering in the vicinity of Old Damascus (recently liberated and returned to Arabian rule), to stare down the guns of doom.

                        All hail Saladin.

                        May Allah bless his defenders.

                        • Murderers of million of Greek people, call them selves liberators. An interesting twist indeed, it is good to see the Arabs having a hard time holding on to their lust for taking even more Greek cities, all while pulling on the defensive card of we had no other choice.

The clock is ticking...... Justinian its time to wake up and help arbiter a peace deal. Arabs will only use this opportunity to finish Greece once and for all.

                          • The news was arriving and it was bad.

                            Rip was torn.

So many Greek lives, so much lost but how could he yield now?

The Brittanians have totally deserted us.

And England stands threatened, if indirectly, by Justinian.

Aid was perilously far away and the designs and predictions of foreign powers were coming to fruition.

The Russian offer could make sense if turned around. Greece can not support colonies but for the return of our cities Greece could relinquish its colony and any on offer from other powers.

Greece to survive in the world must have its original homeland.

                            • Menander kept writing, the latest points being,

                              Major troop buildup in Hellespont.

Byzantyne spies expelled from Greek cities and borders closed.

The third Greek city to fall was once again attacked by Camel Archers from WITHIN Byzantyne borders.

Why will the world not see that there is a clear cooperation between Byzantyne and Arabs. Justinian could have acted here to halt the advance of the Camel Archers - simply by closing borders temporarily if nothing else. But no he housed them and fed them, healed them a little perhaps and off they go to take another Greek city... how can a small nation like Greece protect virtually 360 degrees of border?

ALL GREECE WANTS IS ITS HOMELAND AND A CHANCE.
