Looking to join Diplomacy game or team...

I've played a good amount of vanilla MP, consider myself above average, not the best but I win games here and there.

New to BTS and I love the concept of Diplomacy games so I'm just looking to see if anyone needs a player.

I live in Canada if that helps time-zone wise. I don't know if I'll be able to commit to a specific time each day but if someone can let me know what's expected of me and I'm able, I'd love to join a game that's heavy on trade, diplomacy, and politics.

Its difficult to say. You seem to have signed up for Apolyton in 2003, yet that was your first post. They have to be vigilant about this now. The Japanese player they speak of has already pretended to be someone else, and then cheated again. So they are wary of allowing anyone who "fits the description" into their game.

Although I am quite confident a new game will be starting sometime soon.

Btw i had some problem viewing this site in the past so i hooked up on the "other one" ((http://i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq144/mzprox/mz.jpg)) but i dont see anyone making diplogames there.
I've played something similar as this civ-diplo game, but it was just a text based strategy game and not really known (the name was simply "strat").
Anyway: i really want to try this type of game, i can play every day and even if something happens and i have to skip a day or two i have some friends to ask to help me out.

I am sorry but Capo is right. Both you and BranksDilly are probably genuine new players to the community and, as such, to be welcomed. I have raised this issue myself on our Threads that the 'never trust a Settler' attitude might result from the foul play of just one person. I would never have got a chance if that had been the attitude when I tried to join a game. Please do forgive us here but with the memory of one of the worst cheats I have seen in any MP game fresh in our minds trust will take time to be re-established.

I hope CivIV, PitBoss, PBEM or MP, does get new players as others will always drop out and 'new blood' is essential or any community becomes so small as to be boring.

As Capo says. a new game will be started soon, and everyone, Vet or not, deserves a chance to take part in the fun.

I am still totally in favour of adding new players to the games!
Maybe the thread starter is indeed Danny P.O, but maybe not.
Even if he is, why not let him in a new game? We've all learned.
Japan was always very enthousiastic player who wanted to be the lowest ranking civ, and still continued.

It's hard to resist the possibility to grab some extra techs if you're totally low in the tech-ranking.
Worst was, imho, that he lied about it blatantly.
I would not oppose giving him another chance, if not only for the reason that he was a dedicated player!!

But hey, I'm stupid, I believe everybody. I would even invite Jack the Ripper to our games because I would trust him

Anyway, both BranksDilly and mzprox (who's 100% sure someone else!) thanks for showing interest! I'll keep you guys on my lists for new games.

I agree, let one of the kiddies have Japan. It's not that bad, could be better with a good leader. Not before the end of persian war for that is no introduction to anything! Techs would have to be shared that Japan stole is my only caveat.

Why are you 100% sure? Just because the account was registered in 2003? It isn't unheard of for people to hold onto old accounts that were never used. I am very suspicious that we haven't heard a single word from the previous Japanese player since they were kicked out and now two new people who hadn't posted before mysteriously appear and mysteriously want to take over a spot in the game (i.e. Japan).

ok, 100% may be too optimistic.
But the original japanese player was a colleague of Pinchak who was brought to apolyton by pinchak. The 2003 account could not have been made by danny p.o / rising sun if he was first introduced to poly by pinchak in 2008. (pinchak, can you confirm?)

The admins could neither find any reason to lay a connection between the 3.

Further I think that the way mzprox is writing is completely different.

Do you have reasons to believe otherwise?

I agree with Ozzy. This guy notoriously played twice under different guises (despite complaints that it was the same person) and now you are about to let it happen again. Its difficult to say what to do, but you don't want a two-time offender to get a third shot do you?
