    Tokyo has fallen!

From:~ Daniil Aleksandrovich, Foreign Minister, Republic of Russia
To:~ All Free Nations of the World

Fine news indeed from the Front! In one of the most savage battles ever fought the Russian Army overcame the first serious resistance offerred by the brutal, savage and merciless dogs that have terrorised and oppressed the Persian people! General Kiril Meretsokov has led the 13th Army to a famous victory against great odds. Forced to attack attack across a river our Artillary smashed the Japanese defence and allowed our Infantry to establish a bridgehead. Followed up by a massed Cavelry charge the Japanese were put to the sword. A famous victory indeed that Russian mothers will tell their children of for years to come! Proof again, if any more were needed, that the lesser powers of this World can still move mountains if resolve, truth and justice is on their side!

Sadly casualties were higher than High Command had hoped, though far less than expected. The courageous nurses of the Russian Medical Corps have been tending to the wounded and returning them to health to once more brave the foe.

In the North General Meretsokov has ordered the 7th Army to resume it's western path to reach the sea and finish this matter for good and all. Liberty awaits you for but a few more rounds brave Persians.

Despite it's casualties the 13th Army likewise will move again next round and the remaining Japanese rabble will be put to flight. Little do we doubt that further hardship will be suffered by our brave soldiers as they do their duty but we shall prevail.

Onto other matters. Just who do the Romans think they are to speak an ally in such a fashion? What a statement "I am the protector of the Pax Romana not you. I am the proector of the Piercian people, not you." coming from the lips of a man who would do nothing and protect nodody unless Gold were on offer. Where has Roman 'protection' been when the Piercian people needed it most? A nation a quarter the size of Rome has set out to destroy tyranny because 'Our Protector' has turned a blind eye! The President asked that I issue this bulletin, for all it's glorious news, because he could scarce contain his outrage at the comments made and dared not trust his tongue for fear that his anger might overcome his diplomacy. Remember Rome, that Russia is no poodle to any that comes when called and sits when commanded!

    Daniil Aleksandrovich, Foreign Minister
For, and on behalf of, The Russian Republic

Pusan joins the Great Spartan Empire

The ancient Korean city of Pusan, lately token by the Mayans, had always been influenced by the Spartan culture.
After the Mayans took possession of the city, many citizen rioted against their new leaders.

For many millennia Korea and Sparta had lived side by side in peace.
The Korean people always had loved their Spartan brothers.
The late war against Sparta was never a war of the hearts of Korea! It was the action of one mad man who had lost his wife in a tragedy.

Now the people of Pusan showed their love for Sparta by asking Menelaus II, king of Sparta, to let their city join the Great Spartan Empire.
Menelaus obviously accepted this request and immediately sent an army to the city to ensure it's safety.

The Golden Age of Maya (1690 - 1750)

Although several periods in Mayan history could be technically be classified as "golden ages" the period between 1690 and 1750 is most commonly referred to as the Mayan Golden Age. Several events and achievements during this period contributed to the major gains in wealth, technology, and global diplomatic positioning.

              The Fall of Korea

The Battle of Thebes was the largest single military engagement to occur on Terra during it's time both in terms of army sizes and losses. Korea had invested all it had in victory, but victory was not to be had, largely due to the invention of the Spartan machine gun. Korean cities were left almost without males due to massive slaving and drafting, and now those men lay dead on the doorsteps of Thebes. Greece prepared vengeance against Korea and sent armies east to the now defenseless Korean cities.

With Sung Yu dead from the fighting, the Farmers Union for a Constitutional Korea (*******.) naturally turned to Maya for assistance. Maya sent armies south to meet the invading Greeks, but before a second round of fighting took place Pacal Visyava negotiated a peace with King Orestes. The terms of the peace were labor and gold. Orestes accepted the offering from Maya on behalf of Korea, and Korea in turn renounced its sovereign status and joined the Mayan Republic. The assimilation was seamless, as Mayan policies were the most liberal in all of Terra, granting Koreans equal rights, free speech, and equal say in how the republic would function. In fact, the Korean homeland continued to be referred to as "Korea" even by the Mayan Assembly, although officially it was now part of Maya.

Three former Korean cities fell into the hands of other nations. Pusan with a large Greek population and a dominant Greek culture renounced allegiance to Maya and defected to Sparta. Mayaz in New Portugal was gifted to Russia both to strengthen diplomatic relations and subside some of the newly acquired maintenance burden Maya now suffered. The island city of Ursan far south was given to the Romans in hopes of keeping peace between Maya and Rome.

              Economic Revolution

Within a decade (1710 - 1720) the Mayan GNP exploded due to several changes brought forth by Pacal Visyava.

The concept of Free Speech was brought to the Assembly table and approved by the people. Under normal circumstance this could very well pose a threat to certain government types, but in Maya where the people are the government there was only benefit in the form of increased revenue.

Free Trade was also adopted and likewise contributed to Maya's wealth. New trade routes opened and gold poured in. This policy also helped to ensure that the Anti-Emancipation treaty remained a failed and impotent document that for practical purposes existed on paper only.

Banks and Courthouses were commissioned on a widespread scale. This helped greatly with the massive economic burden of assimilating Korea. Corruption and rampant maintenance costs were quickly reigned in.

A genius merchant from Tikal named Tobaias Joxio shared his ideas with all of Maya sparking this golden age. In addition to increased gold, production also benifited from Joxio's controbution.

Most importantly, Maya did not have a war draining it's funds during this time. The Mayan's thoroughly enjoyed the peace and this allowed them to focus on building a better Maya.

              Statue of Liberty

The crowning achievement of the Mayan golden age from both a architectural and philosophical sense was the Statue of Liberty.

Standing 500 feet tall in the harbor of Mutal, the statue served as a welcome to all who entered the inland sea from the east. It faced north however, and although never officially proclaimed, many suspected this was intentionally done as a dichotomy symbolism between the imperial rule of Rome and the rule by the people of Maya.

The statue itself had much symbolism in its features. The head was of Pacal Voltan, champion of emancipation and most honored leader of the Mayans. The book it held was the Mayan Constitution, letting all who gazed upon the statue know that free men ruled Maya. The torch stood for the light of Taoism and in tandem, freedom. Not only freedom from oppression, but freedom from earthly existence which was a hallmark of the religion.

The statue inspired many within Maya, and specialists from all crafts put this inspiration into their works, further fueling the Mayan golden age.

Unwelcome visitors to the Russian frontline

Two groups of Roman Officers, well known to the Russian army commanders from join exercises in more peaceful times, travelled quickly West from Oath City, confident that their new infantry weaponry and tactics far outstripped the primative Russian and Japenese mustketters in this failed state.

One went west to General Meretsokov the commander of the Russian 7th Army, once south to the 13th Army under General Kiril Meretsokov.

The message was the same. Warning the generals that Rome was imminently going to close the railroads from Russia to Pierica, cutting their armies off in a hostile land, with no hope of supplies or replacements, and with Russia's membership of the Pax Romana suspended, the Russian hopeland itself was under threat from the old enemies over the sea, with all its soliders trapped many miles away in Piercia.

The Roman officers urged the Russian Generals, their friends and comrades, to make President Rostislav Vladimirovich see sense and attend a private conference with Marcus Aurelius in Oath City to discuss the guardianship of the Piercian people. The officers reasurring the generals that Rome recongised that Russian blood has been spilt fighting the Japanese and that this would be honoured. But Rome would not simply sit back and accept war, annexation, and politics decided down the barrel of a gun, within the Pax Romana.

The Romans left, urging the Russians, their friends and colleagues, to do something. Fast. For Marcus was not going to delay any longer, the border was about to close.

The Generals, hard, battle-formed men, responsible for the lives of tens of thousands of Russians, pondered whether Russia was once again going to be destroyed by the arrogance of its politicians. But no, now as it was a republic surely the President would need to respond to the needs of the people - the needs of the army, and the clamour from families back home.

                  The March for Justice!

From:~ Daniil Aleksandrovich, Foreign Minister, Republic of Russia
To:~ All Free Nations of the World

Advance Cavalrymen of the 7th Arny have now reached Owari. The foot and artillary arrive next round and it will be liberated. The 13th Army has set forth on the march to Osaka but a few troop of Cavalry has been spared to deal with Manilla Harbour. General Meretsokov has asked that the major part of the 13th Army be given a period to recover from the storming of Tokyo and who are as mere civilians to doubt him? We hope that the bloodshed at Owari and Osaka will be less than that at Tokyo for we would not wish for so many Mother's again to grieve for their sons.

In Tokyo we have found positive evidence of just how the vile and disgusting pigdogs of Japan have abused their power as mere men at arms but have enjoyed the oppertunity to commit the vilest of crimes. See how we deal with a Japanese murderer and rapist!

This vile man was not the only one!

The President himself will travel shortly to visit the troops on the frontline. This will help them understand that not only do the Russian people care but that all of Russia cares up to the highest level of Government! None forget your endeavours brave young men of Russia!

                  Daniil Aleksandrovich, Foreign Minister,

                    Public announcement

The ancient city of Alcetas has been captured by the Spartan armies from the Japanese.
No Spartan soldiers died in battle. The citizen of Alcetas were kept alive, no damage has been done
upon the city structures or improvements.
Alcetas will be a natural part of Sparta within Spartan territorial boundaries.

                    Menelaus II of Sparta

Spartan armies march into Alcetas and take possession of the city in the name of Menelaus II

                    -----------------------------------------------

To: The Interim Government of Japan
                    From: Menelaus II of Sparta

Long ago Alcetas of Sparta had settled a new Spartan city on the so called land bridge of Sparta.
Japan asked for help and begged Alcetas for some room on the land bridge.
Alcetas, a honourable man, honoured this request and gave this new found city to Japan.

To show the Spartan roots of this city and the generosity of Alcetas, the Japanese called this city the city of Alcetas.
Now, many centuries later, most people of Japan forgot about the generosity of their ancient friends. Spartans were refused to pass through the Japanese territories, effectually splitting Sparta in two parts.

Orestes, a man of peace and humanity, was too soft to handle this issue correctly.
Now this great King of Sparta has passed away we were able to take the city of Alcetas back from Japan.

The overwhelming Spartan forces destroyed the Japanese defence in only a couple of hours. The city of Alcetas was once again Sparta.

                    Now here we are.
Japan has bowed for Sparta, but it has to bow down even more.
I will send my army to the main-land of Japan and take all of Japan!
But I offer you this great proposal to avoid the annihilation of Japan:

                    - Japan gives all ancient Piercian cities to Russia and signs peace with Russia
                    - Japan gives all other cities on the continent to the Oldonians
                    - Japan capitulates to Sparta and becomes a vassal of Sparta
                    - Japan gives all surplus resources to Sparta
                    - Sparta will send defence armies to protect all of Japan
                    - Sparta will send surplus resources to aid Japan in all possible ways
                    - Borders will be opened

                    Answer quickly or be destroyed.

                    Menelaus II of Sparta

                        Riot in New Portugal

The newly gifted cities in New Portugal have rebelled against the new rule of the Spainish Empire. There have been reports opf mass anarchy in the newly gifted cities. So the first cause of action was to send in the police to quell the violence.

But the crowd was just too big, s they had to seeks shelter.
Here are some pictures of the violence that occured in the Spainish section of New Portugal.
Right here we see a burning chariot, still the mode of transportation in New Portugal.

Here are some youths throwing stones an other things at the police, causing them to fall back, due to being out numbered.

Here is a burning building that was started by the riots.

In the interest of getting dialogue, the Empress herself went to New portugal to speak to the rioters and see what they wanted. There was only one message that was coming out of the group and it was that they wanted to join the Russian Empire. They were sick and tired of being either part of Portugal or Persia or even the Spainish Empire. The dialogue went back and forth, since the Empress tried to explain the fact that these cities were originally meant to be our cities, but the rioters just got even angrier. The end finally happened once an envoy of the Empress was kidnapped and to get his release the Empress finally relented and said that as soon as the Russians send a emissary, then the cities can be under the control that you want to be under.

*..yet to be received. It seems that the Japanese goverment lost control over the once great empire and now only localized form of authorities try to save what can be saved, but none of them have the power nor want to take the responsibility to accept such an offer. Some Japan diplomats try to find a way to avoid the fall of more japan cities and having more causalities, but it seems the invading russian army shows no sign that they are willing to talk untill they captured and ravaged all, once great Japan cities on the continent*

I am Masanori Akamatsu a diplomat, currently in Osaka. I'm not in charge accepting such a treatry, and i'm afraid we need more time untill we hear from our Emperor or untill we can organize a new, temporay government which can deal with it. Untill then I want to find a way to save the innocent population from further causalities. And ask the leaders of the free world to put pressure on the russians to stop the atrocities against the Japanese cities. I assure you : the Japanese more than willing to accept peace if that means the safety of our people.

                          • Capitulation of Japan

Japan gave in to the Spartan demands.
Now the issue with the city of Alcetas had been solved, there was no more tension between the Japanese and Spartan people.
Japan became a vassal state of the Spartan empire.

Japan remained an independent nation, with an independent administration.
Menelaus II would serve as the King of Japan, though this was more a ceremonial position then an official position.

Sparta offered protection and help to Japan, in return Japan offered sea fruits and special resources to Sparta.
First thing Sparta did was sending troops to old Piercia to help the Japanese to defend their cities and take back what belonged to Japan.

This all ended the war between Sparta and Japan.
It started the war between Sparta and Russia though.

Aleksandrovich, Sparta has an ancient debt towards Russia.
We have promised to send one of our great Scientists to Russia to teach the Russians Spartan Science.
Let me be clear: Sparta always pays it's debts and Sparta always lives up to it's word of honour.
This Great Scientist will continue it's journey to Russian cities and be handed over to Russian control as soon as possible.

You are at war with Japan.
Japan is our vassal state. We have vowed to protect Japan from any foreign aggression.
                              And we will do so!

I urge you to stop your invasion of the Japanese cities.
Sparta armies are sailing to ancient Piercia as we speak. Galleons, defended by ironclads and frigates, and very soon also destroyers.

                              Our demands are:
                              - Give the city of Kyoto back to Japan
                              - Sign Peace

If you are not willing to give in to these demands, Sparta will send an entire army to retake all of Japan's cities you took.

In a hope of a better future

A future which seemed uncertain just a few days ago, now there is a hope for saving our people from violent annexation.
We haven't heard from our Emperor and the rulling family for weeks now, we may assume the worst. We have organized an Interim government with me, Yukawa Hideki, as a prime minister, and started peace negotiations with the Spartans. The price for the peace was high: our sovereignty in foreign matters, but we gained much better conditions than it was in the original Spartan proposal, we could even save Japan territorial integrity with the help of Spartan troops.
The war is not over yet! The russians must accept that those once persian cities are now part of Japan, and if they dont we can prepare for a war which the help of the Spartans doesnt look as hopeless as it seemed a few days ago.
