Beyond the Pit [Pitboss Diplomacy Thread] [Warfare-Turn Timer Issue Discussion]
Been some discussion over whether the few rules we have in this game need any penalties attached so people are aware of the consequences of breaking the rules.
So we need a concensus on the following.
1. Do we need penalties for rule breakers YES or NO
2. Should these penalties be of a preset format or wait to see what the impact of the rule break is to work out a punishment.
3. One proposal for Rule breaking is a warning first time , 2nd time you will be stripped of all Points recieved from Votes.
4. Further proposal was to have flwxible penalties. such as
........25% loss of points 25% loss of tech vouchers
.......50% loss of points 50% loss of tech vouceers
........Full loss of vouchers.
This open for discusion, it is not a rule change but asking how do we enforce rules.
1. Yes
2. it should be a preset format so we don't have to keep debating forever. with a preset format we can decide the fait of the person or persons responsible with out haveing to think about it. seeing as there are those of us who can find loop holes in almost everything in those rare cases they should be delt with when they happen and a desition must be made swiftly to avoid unnessesary debate.
3. this is way too harsh. people make mistakes some times and i don't see why they should lose everything for two stupid mistakes.
4. this in my opinion is the best way to go because everything is preset so debate in not nessesary.
No Japan, we need Pinchak. If we are going to come up with a good rule we need something that doesn't have loopholes, and if he is going to try and find one that is one less thing I have to worry about. Having written the proposal I am the worst person to look for loopholes in it, being a douchebag who didn't write the penalty down pinchak is a perfect person to do it.
I know its a little wordy Pinchak, but I did go to law school so that's probably why its like that, and I wanted to cover all bases. In general the rule is pretty simple; its designed to cover a necessary breaking of the rule so we don't punish people who are just trying to get the game going, don't punish too harshly someone who doesn't benefit too much to cover those people, and then finally punish very harshly those who clearly did it to gain an advantage.
We keep getting complaints from the people whining about how "fair" a penalty is, and they are forgetting that the person who is being "unfairly" treated CHEATED in the first place. They keep bringing up the death penalty, but this isn't real life, its a game of civilization so those are stupid comparisons. Anyway, I'm trying to get this pushed through but Cybershy needs to be convinced first I think.

...kinda like the revolutionary war, when VA, NY and PA had to be convinced to vote to go to war. We've gotta get the guys who everyone else looks up to.
EDIT: Changed a word so it didn't sound as bad. Try and guess which one it was.
