  • but guys we not writing a rule the rule is already written, all we want is the punishments for breaking the rules.

And we need punishments for all rules not just the double turn rule.

      • i have given up trying t otalk sense to people.

Apparently peopel are more concerned with accidents happening and yet after all the turns we taken, only one instance of a DOUBLE turn has come up and that wasnt accidental.

Too many lawyers involved in this game, i will not make any more suggestions.

I wont even vote as it is pointless.

The only things that get agreed upon here are suggestions from certain people, the rest of us are just idiots who should keep quiet as all our ideas are belittled.

          • Look Raz, don't get demoralized. The first mistake that was made was that it was brought to vote before it was ready to be voted on. We can't give them something unifinished or unweildy or else it will never pass. If you don't have the proper patience you will be your own worst enemy. The second mistake was giving options; don't give options because people don't like to decide on things when they are vague. Then we let Cybershy take it over and start talking about neutral parties. That is going to cause more problems than we need. What we SHOULD be doing is getting a streamlined penalty that is clear with no room for your so-called "lawyers" to get involved. No groups of three, no neutral parties, no judgement based on what happened, just flat-out penalties for breaking the rules. That's all we need. The thing is this IS NOT real life, this IS NOT a murder or a rape or a robbery. Its a damn videogame, so there must be a hard and fast rule to ensure nobody cheats. That is the idea; not to punish people fairly, its to make the punishment so severe that nobody would dare do it to begin with. We want to prevent it from happening so we don't have to reload or anything. The penalties aren't going to be unfair because we are going to make them so harsh nobody cheats and thus nobody will have to suffer the penalties. That's the idea, that's what we need to get out there.

if people are going to break the rules in this game, I'm sure they're going to do that by accident, not on purpose. Nobody is that stupid to break this rule because it will be visible for everyone.

You want to give people who make a mistake a harsh punishment.....

              • How could you make a mistake? You know you are at war, and you know the rules. It should be 1/3rd of the NEXT TURNS TIMER if you can't figure that out you're an idiot. Its at 18hrs right now right? That's six hours. When there are 12 hours left you can move.

How difficult is this to understand?

I suppose if you want we can give warnings, but that basically means everyone gets a freebee.

                • if everyone gets a freebee then the mayan's used theirs already. it wouldn't be fair to overlook what they already did. so everyone but the mayans will get a freebee as long as it doesn't give them an advantage in war.

                  • Actually, I myself feel that the Mayans should have been punished...but since they were not. How can we initiate a new rule? What, since the Mayans did what they did before a new rule is incorporated...they are basically immune from any type of punishment?!? (Gawd, why does this sound like the US Congress???)

                    Comment

                    • it's too late now but at least we can ensure what the mayans did never happens again.

                        Everyone makes mistakes.
Warning people first only makes it worse since you give people a freebee.

You simply can't make 1 punishment for all situations. Every situation is different.
I just don't understand this crusade for harsh clear rules.

We have a rule, everyone should just keep the rule.

If someone breaks it we can see what's supposed to be done. We don't have clearly written out procedures for what happens when someone razes the capital of someone else, or if someone trades more techs then vouchers, etc. etc.

We have no penalties for any of the rules we have. And for some weird reasons you guys go totally crazy about putting down huge hars rules for this 33% rule.

                        Let it go.

                        • your right so i have an idea. why don't we all just leave it ti cyber, pinchak, and someone outside the game to decide the punishment or if one is really needed.

                          Comment

                          • There is no rule against razing a capital, but there is a rule against conquering a country. And I always considered it an implication that if you conquer a country in a diplogame you lose your country and are kicked out of the game and the player you conquered takes over.

Other than that there aren't really any other rules in diplogames Cyber, I want you to tell me one other rule we have.

There are no other rules, this is the only rule and its new because we are doing pitboss diplogames now. There is a difference, and you are not in charge of this game my friend. Nobody is. Its just to make sure nobody breaks the rules, these penalties aren't intended to be utilized, but they should be there just in case.

BTW; you can't punish the Maya for something that happened before a punishment, if anything their actions resulted in this debate so its kind of a good thing. No ex post facto laws!

I hope this was a sarcastic statement.

ok you have misread everything i said Cyber. I want the penalties for all the RULES.

I am happy to allow MISTAKES if that apepases you any. What i suggest is anytine a rule is suspected of being broken we will follow your suggestion of putting in a review panel, this means the game will need to be stopped everytime a rule is suspected of beign broken

once the review panel decides yes the rule was broken and it was deliberate nto accidental then the penalties are put in SET penalties.

if the review says accidendatal rule break then they can decide if any action is needed.
