Whatever "wait time" we decide on, it should start immediately after the last player in the war moves. No waiting for the next turn to begin before this "wait time" starts.

We want to give players a chance to react, but we don't want to excessively shorten players time window to play their turn.

For example.... PlayerA plays his wartime move one hour into the start of a new turn. Turns are 22 hours. I really don't think PlayerA should have to wait 28 hours until they play their second turn... which would be required according to the current wording.

Really though, you guys should just give up on coming up with a rule to address this. BEEN THERE, DONE THAT, NOTHING WORKS.

I'll toss out another pandoras box just to prove my point above...

Ever think about what happens if one player logs in, plays his moves, but doesn't end the turn? Did he violate the timer? If so, how do we track this? Chew on that for a bit...

Or how about a three way war? Four way war? Beginning to see the bigger picture here and why it is so hard to implement a rule that WORKS?
    That's the rule already.
Wait till 33% of the next rule has passed, or the other player in the war has made his moves.

Not logging out is a cheap exploit that's easily seen by everyone. I'd say that 20 minutes after your war opponent has logged in the other player can do his moves.

And a 3-way war doesn't change the rule. Wait 33% or wait till the players who you war against moved.
You can of course even split your moves.
If you're at war with player A and B, then player A moved so you can move again against player A, but have to wait for player B.

We're all mature people, I don't see how this rule won't work out if we just all play sane and fair.

You know nothing about what happened between the Koreans and the Mayans.
The Mayans got no advantage at all by that double move. The problem was the story-backup and the reload-confusion. Korea stopped moving because it expected the turn to be reloaded.

You're working on my nerves with your continueing arguing about anything and everything. Can you please stop it now. Don't you see that 16 players in this game are having fun without posting 30 arguments per day about what is going wrong? That only 1 or 2 players are posting problems and negative stuff all the time?

Can you please finally quit the crap?
I don't even have the proper time to write and read stories. Because I have to deal with this crap for about an hour each day.

We have a long understanding rule and that is how it should be.

Well so far the voting is speaking for itself. And the original rule seems to be winning out. I set the poll to be up for a month, so we'll see what happens. But so far it doesn't look like the rule is going to change.

And I actually find it more difficult to have to be home everyday (not right now though, I'm kind of off for a little while) to play civilization. I much prefer once a week so I don't have to worry about it six days out of the week.

I play most of my turns away from home.
I login with my laptop through my phone connection. It's only a few minutes.

i play ever morning befor work or evey night after work. if i can't play for an extended time i have someone who can take over for me till i get back. i was well stated how long this game would last and the level of comitment we would all have to make from the begining. this game will last a long time and complaints about how slow it is going will not speed it up. and trying to change the rules because you were not there in the begining is not helping anything. we already set the rules in stone and i think they should be left alone. the rules are not perfact but nothing ever is thats why i say just let the rules be and focus on making your civ better then it is.

I am not on a crusade to do anything, I only made this thread so there was a place to talk about. I don't want to change the rule, unless there is something better but I dont' think there is anything better. The stuff I wrote at the begining was to explain the point of the thread, I don't necessarily agree with all of it.

The point of this thread is to get the debate out of the organization thread. Of course you would know that if you read it.

                      And you're right, I didn't realize when I joined the game I was getting into a spam/*****/whine/argument-fest.

Capo, you're also argumentating about a lot of things.
It's not that I don't appreciate your suggestions, it's just that we're living in the 21th century.

                        Everyone has ideas and suggestions.
It just has to stop at a certain point. I'm sure we can continue coming up with new ideas, but let's just finish the game within the current rules.

It's not as if these are the best rules, these rules aren't the end of all rules.
But just for the sake of the game we should stop trying to change everything everytime.

                            I am not trying to change anything, I don't know why you people keep repeating that. I will repeat this again and type it point by point so you two can understand me;

                            - There are people who don't like the rule as it stands

                            - We lost a player because of it

                            - Thus it became a concern for some players

                            - They complained about it in the organization thread

                            - You (CS) didn't like that, posts were deleted

                            - They began to complain that their posts were getting deleted

                            - I made this thread so they can talk about it HERE

                            - How does this not make sense to you two?

we didn't lose a player because of a rule we lost a player because nothing was done to inforce the rule. if you really want to talk about something talk about how the rules should be enforced so what happened to the original koreans doesn't happen again.

@capo i'm sorry for spamming the thread i truely didn't mean to and i will try extreamly hard for now on to keep the spam only in the OOC thread.
