Beyond the Pit [Pitboss Diplomacy Game] [OOC Chat Thread]

I closed it, cause I am really getting fed up with Japan & Vikings spamming up every single thread we have. This game has used 5 total threads, the story thread, the tech trade thread, two org threads, and the chat thread. Of those 5 threads (and nearly 3,000 posts) over 35% of the posts are just Japan & Raz/Vikings.

I would wager that the majority of those posts are one sentence comments that have little or nothing to do with any serious discussion. It is obnoxious and is seriously getting on my nerves and reducing my enjoyment of this game.

We created the chat thread so we could try and isolate serious discussion from the stupidity of Japan & Vikings, but no they kept going in the main org thread as well. After I attempted to delete some of their spam to make the thread a little cleaner and more focused they spammed even more just to annoy us.

Their spam is frustrating and disruptive, and I am sick of it.

If I could interject though; the reason I think that happens is because somebody will make a comment in the Org thread, then someone comments on the comment and someone then comments on that comment, and then the discussion goes off on a tangent. I know I keep harping on this anonymous thing, but I'm going to harp on; I think part of the issue is that we CAN'T really talk on an instant message program because we have to be anonymous, and as Piercia said some people are just too lazy (I wouldn't use that term though) to create a different SN and set up a new account just to talk to another country that probably doesn't have an SN themselves. So they are relegated to the chat forums.

Just a theory.

Spanning the chat tread is fine but the org tread covers the important stuff and makes it hard to communicate important msg. Only put real important org posts in there. Move debates to this tread. And ozzy: don't lose fun because of this. Just make them your puppet states if they bother you

That's not that different to what i suggested, and just as i said, we may take hills instead of cities, so that even a 4 squares big island would be fine. 10 is just as good as 5 units, i see no problem with that. In fact, i fail to see what you are complaining about ? Multiple rounds ? There may be pauses between the rounds. For instance, if we do this in the middle-ages, we may start a new round every 100 years, so that it wouldn't be such a big, and most of all, such a constant effort.

If you get a great general, you are the winner, since you only get them if your troops defeat the ennemy. You may loose 5000 combats, you won't get a single general.

However, if you may have to give your general to "the winner", what's the point in participating in the first place ? The price should be something else. Maybe the right to settle the island, plus some gold and the settler for the island ?

PS: Hey people, don't get upset about some stupid spamming. That's part of a forum's life. Anyway, won't be my propblem for the next two weeks. I leave for hollidays in a few hours

I'm actually in the process of moving to a new house. I've been busy doing stuff in my new house and spending enough money to keep the dutch economy running all day.

I've just finished his turn.
Since I had subbed for him in the past I could just join and end the turn. No damage done to the Roman empire. I haven't even peeked.

btw, my score increased from 118 to 125 this turn, but nothing actually happened for me. My population didn't increase, my borders didn't expand, I didn't invent any technology, I didn't even finish building anything. The only thing that happened at all was I finished building a road and my scout explored a bit of land.

Where did those 7 points come from?
