And if I turn the firewall off, it must be off, and not still on because the manufactorer thinks that that's better for me.

@Beta:
you can't advance the turn if not all players have ended their turns. The host can't do that either.
And it's impossible to 'kick' or 'replace' someone during a session.

Is the router I bought really bad, or is the Netgear wifi N just uber good?

Since most sessions mostly take more then half an hour, I wonder how much will be left over of the 'first part'............

Maybe we should start an hour early, so kuno can be with us longer he just has to leave his bed a bit earlier

OK, sorry about short post before but was rushing by and jumped in to a local library. I'm in a library now and will try and read back over the threads now.

This holiday is frustrating in terms of net access. We are staying in B&B's in North England, Ireland and Scotland - so far wirless hotspots are failing (even at McDonalds in Whitehaven) and no rooms have phone lines for modem access (so can't use my global roaming). Also, there are no damn fridges in the rooms so far! AND the Poms don't sell canned bourbon and coke

My wife thinks we are having a great holidaty!! She planned it

This Friday we arrive in Birr in Ireland very late and they don't have Internet. Unlikely I'm going to be able to get online so any subs can customise my civ instructions as they see fit (am not confident of future Fridays either but will keep posting if only from the library)

We are born to early to enjoy wireless high speed internet connection everywhere at this moment
In 5 years everybody will have internet access anywhere and we never need subs anymore 8)

You can't connect your laptop to your mobile phone?
That's what I mostly do when on vacation.

It would be a great to way to contact you during the setup of the game!

You can also download trillian and use that instead of YIM or AIM (trillian hosts msn, AIM, YIM and ICQ)
In fact you're the only player who doesn't use any messenger prog!
