Hey to all the voters, just a reminder! Don't forget Bulgaria had a tundra start, but still through superior Military and Diplomacy became the most powerful nation on Terra and ended the game top place (A dominated position for quite some time).

I though this is worth mentioning

A vote for deity and The Choson simply makes sense!

Roughly in the timeline of the game

Military Achievement (many decisions here that made sense game/story-wise but at the expense of reduced Choson points)

        * Successfully supported Celts and Kushren against major barbarian attacks

        * Survived a whole session of Arabian onslaught without losing any ground

        * Resulting in the impenetrable defence of The Choson Wall - no nation could ever get past this

        * Despite the war The Choson continued to settle the New World, fighting off barbarians and establishing many new cities

        * Major military buildup as the 500 year peace deal came to an end. Arabia fills Medina with many troops 30 years prior to the peace deal ending, thwarting plans to take Medina

        * From this point Choson military was always at the top and could easily match any buildup by Arabia or Bulgaria; BUT not those two nations combined - this stymied Choson attempts at any further military action. The Celts and Kushren may have been cheap pickings for Choson (or indeed Arabia) but made no sense in the storyline.

        * Without strong military allies The Choson focussed on massive defence and survival of its entire civilisation in tact till the end without losing any territory whatsoever - despite the combined power of Arabia and Bulgaria who were unable to challenge this. Even the one strike of the one nuke (that we did know about BTW thanks to Bulgarian gossip!) would not have done enough damage to break through The Choson. [ FYI If deity had been at the final session the SS was going to be stopped and total military production would have continued resulting in at least parity with Bulgaria ]

        * Terra's biggest navy by far - naval invasion of The Choson was totally not possible.

        * First army to have 40 + Modern Armour before any other nation had built any or perhaps a few - courtesy of Terra's highest GDP

Diplomacy (many game saving efforts here)

        * Very early gifting of technologies to support struggling civs - this included Bulgaria!

        * First civ to circumnavigate the Terra landmass AND then the globe - sharing the first map of the entire world with ALL nations (as posted)

        * Supported all the smaller nations in getting a toehold in the New World - gifting of Galleons to Carthage and India; plus gifting of Optics and Astronomy to many civs

        * Successfully negotiated a 500 year peace deal with Arabia to end the long war; maps were exchanged and Optics gifted to Arabia as good will (but NOT as a conquered tech of course)

        * Developed strategy of the Western Alliance concept with lz of the Vikings - failed due to loss of Viking leader; despite independent efforts of the Indians and Chinese but at a time not appropriate for the Choson - seen as a diplomacy failure by India and China not to wait for The Choson (changed the course of the game)

        * Persistent world outings of the troop sharing arrangements by the Arabians and Bulgarians

        * Pesistent pressure on the changing Inca regime to wake up to them selves and undertsand the real enemy in the world - eventually succeeded. Similar pressure failed on the Axis running dogs - the English

        * Promoted concept of Carthaginian and Viking amalgamation which came to fruition

        * Put forward plan to increase English culture as solution to Inca/England war but no meaningfull responses from the Axis and not adopted - vassalage causing a war situation to be maintained

        * Developed strategy with Arabia, consistent with different and concurrent leaders in Choson, to curtail the leadership of the Bulgarians on the planet where Wang Kon would revolt against his father Wang Yung and convert to Islam - resulting in a jihad the likes of which was never seen unfortunately... Game decision here as deity thought it could result in the ending of the game with several players getting upset - particularly if the city razing strategy was employed....

        * Developed strategy with Ryk of the Vikings to aim at a non Axis Diplomatic Victory; but proved very difficult on this planet of so many mixed egos Might have worked out in the end if deity had been in the last session maybe... I mean, who wanted ozzy to win TWICE in a row!

        Storytelling/Roleplaying

        * Developed storyline based on Korean history and legend; including their unique Archers and structure of the Kingdoms.

        * Tailored this history to tie in with changes on this planet and used select historic graphics and maps sparingly but powerfully

        * Founded Buddhism and used successfully as a reaklistic religion of the Choson (the tribe that became Korea)

        * Used Choson world circumnavigation as a lynch pin to influencing world politics and development

        * The Tan-gun and Tan-gun II legend was good

        * The Columbus analagy story was good

        * The urging of the peaceful development of the New World was novel and inter-action with the Indians, Vikings and Carthginians created a New World controlling power (only curbed by the Arabian war)

        * The Wang Yung/Kon father son storyline was handy for varying outcomes in politics - eg Wang Kon would have followed the Bin laden strategy

        * Note that deity's decision to limit to 5 or 6 leaders through out the course of the game is a wise move to allow storys to be more easily followed

Ok, it's friday, I assume that everybody who'll ever brag has bragged. I'm sorry that Kuno didn't post here but we can't wait for that for eternity.

All please send your votes (and reasons 'nd arguments) to Canuck Soldier ( csoldier -<>- telus.net )

Let's say everyone has 4 days for that? (friday, saturday, sunday and monday)
Then CS can post them here maybe tuesday?

If you disagree, Ozz, just edit my post and make it whatever you want

True the Choson had a tundra start but also had 3x times the expansion land, without civs close by

have you watched the replay and have you seen how absurd far away from your capital you founded your 3rd city! Really, when I saw that again I understood how insulting your city placing was!

go, load the save and watch it, you'll be amazed

And please people, don't brag about your tundra starts, tundra starts are a walk in the park. I got an ice start, deep down the tundra
