Hmm, not to mention of course all those nations that had a defense pact with BULGARIA and declared war on India the minute the conflict started!!!!

Yea, none of us got involved though. And I canceled my alliance with Toni! See Deity, our alliance wasn't locked in forever, hehe.
But man, that spacerace really went down to the wire. It looked like Toni was hardly trying for it, but then with like 15 turns to go he suddenly turned up the heat and pulled ahead of me. Thankfully I had a lot of forests left that I was able to chop. Also it seems India was trying to help me out by destroying Toni's mines. I swear I had no knowledge of it and had no hand in planning it at all. I appreciate it though.
====DIPLOGAME VICTORY VOTING=====
Ok, the game is over, but the victor HAS NOT yet been determined. We need someone to tally up the objective points in the game and we need to begin voting. I appoint Deity (assuming he has time due to his family emergency...) to tally up the objective points since he has the cool spreadsheet and was doing it earlier.
As for the subjective voting, I think we should do a secret ballot (until all the votes are cast), and we should wait to vote until everyone reveals (if they choose to) all the secret behind the scenes diplo-maneuvering we were all doing throughout the game. If we are going to evaluate how sneaky and diplomatic someone is, we need to know their secret deals, heh.
I'll start a thread to do that now. But in the meantime, everyone who split a civ with someone (Inca, England, etc) you need to get in touch with the other civ's players and start discussing the vote.Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012

Well, regarding England, I'm not sure if Mike must contact the earlier players. I think that Mike has played England for the grand majority of the game.
Maybe we should create a new "Who won HOTW7" thread in which all players can shortly explain why they think they deserve votes in all 3 categories.Formerly known as "CyberShy"

CS just for the record, if we had 10-15 more turns you will be death. Your suicidal army had some guts but against +120 Modern Armour hehe. I was 2 turns from completely annihilating you on the old continent, had 2 other cities on the new world, full of units and building so u could have not run anywhere. But love the battles thanks for the two extra Generals did u get any by the way

Another thing we need to do to determine victory is calculate the top cultural cities. Everyone should post their top one or two cities.
My top three are:
Mecca 71617
Damascus 70052
Sheba 29282Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012

Just a reminder, we are doing a secret ballot for voting. So don't post your votes until we figure out who is collecting the votes. If you have your mind made up, just write them down somewhere privately. But don't post htem yet.Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012

Id like to see the voting be open, too. Speaking only for myself, I take none of this personally. It is a game and I have no illusions that I did anything specialIt will be easier to just look in the forum and see the results.
The only reason I can think to keep it hidden is if we think people voting late will be influenced or disheartened by seeing a player with a huge majority. You know, kinda like when America votes for a President and the entire west coast has a low turn out due to a runaway electionI really dont see that being the case here though.

I think that we all first have to post reasons why we deserve votes. Just a small (2-4 lines) post. I hardly can oversee everything that happened. If everybody can just put down the highlights of his/her civilization, that makes it easier to vote.
And it's nice to have a last change to be able to earn some votes with 'talking'Formerly known as "CyberShy"

I know that it was suicidal, but hey, ending the game in the boring way just wasn't an option for me :P
BTW, annihilation is not very diplo
And tell me, if I wouldn't have destructed all those mines and wouldn't have started the war against you, would you then have been first to launch the SS?Formerly known as "CyberShy"

U did nothing to delete my SS, Ozzy beat me because he chopped his forest in the last 2 turns. As u saw what u pillaged i rebuild it in the same turn. I had 40 workers there working on what u destroyed, plus 2-3 mines destroyed is just 20-30 hummers which is not much. In that city which was over 180 hammers. Plus the SS wasn't a priority for me, just became one in the last 20 turns, i could have started on it much earlier. But that wasn't the plan! The goal was just to show terra my superior production capacity, which was maybe more then the 2nd and 3rd civ combined

I'm not saying we keep it secret. I'm just saying that once everyone votes and the votes are tallied by a neutral 3rd party that we reveal the votes then.Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012
