An Open Letter To The UN And All Nations Of Terra
From England
First, we would congratulate the New Republic on the founding of the UN, after all, how can the ideal of a neutral arbitrator of world wide issues on Terra be anything but hailed as good. Add to this the New Republics recent history where they showed their desire to moderate the recent conflict between England and the Incan nation, and it would seem a perfect match.
However, the first statement out of the UN was totally biased against England, endangering the legitimacy of the UN from the very start. England does not understand how the following facts lead the UN to such pronouncements against England:
1. It was proven that the Incans, under the (justifiably) deposed Levi, were actively trying to subvert an English city. An act of war, to be sure.
2. England, rightfully, declared war with the expressed goal of relieving the city of Hastings by taking the Incan city of Olly, where all the agents of the Incan regime were based.
3. With almost no loss of life on either side, England was poised to reach her goal and Olly was about to fall. But England listened to her world neighbors, including the Choson, India, and the New Republic as they urged her to make a compromise. England accepted this compromise immediately and in good faith.
4. The deal reached by all nations involved was for the Incan Nation to be a vassal state if England, with the sole purpose of giving Hastings the land it once owned back to its rightful owners. No other demand was put on the Inca, they could worship, research, build, and govern in any way those saw fit. England did not mettle in their affairs at all.
5. England had voiced concern over the terms of the vassalage, and all nations involved, the Choson, India, and the New Republic, made it clear that it would be Englands obligation to enforce vassalage if the Inca would ever break the peace treaty and renounce it.
6. As England had foreseen years ago, the Inca did indeed break the lawful peace treaty and renounced vassalage to the English. In doing so, they have caused great starvation in Hastings, even worse than before the first Incan/Anglo conflict. Many thousands of English citizens die each year of starvation. Hereditary lands have again been taken by the Inca. Even worse is the grave humanitarian nightmare in Cori. The city has lost well over half of its population since the Incan treachery.
7. And lastly, as if the provocation offered before wasnt enough, the Incan Nation saw fit to start a construction project just outside the gates of Cori. A fort was built and filled with troops, too innumerable to count, but many thousands of troops, mainly offensive in nature. England certainly could have prevented the fort from being built, but decided to air our concerns before acting harshly.
In conclusion, it should be clear to all nations that it was the Incan Nation that broke the agreed upon peace treaty causing incredible loss of life and land in England. So much damage is done every year in England and it is all due to the Incan Nations actions. And now the UN is going to declare England at fault? This is hard to hear, to say the least.
England calls on the UN to retract the earlier criticism of England and put forth a resolution requiring the Incan Nation to abide by the peace treaty they signed and return to her vassal state. We hope this will restore some, if not all, of the legitimacy the UN has lost with its previous and unfounded stance against England.
