Self-interest aside I think we should start a new 5 way without barbs and continue last nights as a 4 way when Alex isn't around.

Barbs are good in principle but are quite unbalancing when less experienced players get wiped out in the early game - then it's not much of a fun game if we keep playing it week after week.

The consensus was that we continue the existing game, Alex overcame his barb difficulties and has progressed his game very nicely, I think he has more than 1/2 dozen techs I do not have (although I also have many he does not, teched different lines), Toni has a substantial lead in tech and economically and will be difficult to haul back even though the mid/late game has been his weak link in the past. Deity has also gone on strongly after recovering from early barb attacks and is a strong 2nd. It will be an interesting game to finish.

Next weekend I will be unavailable all Sunday, but should be able to play Saturday mid arvo onwards, maybe earlier on Saturday, I will let you know more later assuming I know my work hours for Sat better.

No work tomorrow, so basically a full day avavilable for civ4. Tabletennis on Sunday means no civ4 for me that day.

And 2 others turned up late in the afternoon and a 4way game was continued for nearly 4 hours. This game we continued was last played 2 months ago, but we aim to finish all matches we play even if circumstances force us to take long breaks from a game

Further games have been played this Easter weekend, some without me yesterday, and others today which are rapidly moving towards the space race with tanks and aircraft built. There will be further games on the next 2 days, players who want to participate regularly in these games played generally weekend afternoons and evenings, occaionally weekday evenings (all aussie times) please respond to this thread with your contact details, preferably MSN messenger or icq.

Yeah, deity won the space race, unfortuantely for me 24000 gold spent on 3 espionage attempts in 3 deity cities all failed and therefore I could not slow his spaceship program down. I needed to buy about 25 turns for my own spaceship, was not possible and therefore deity won a very good game.
