I used to be one of those, since knights would come in and butcher them in the open field, but I've learned how to use them more effectively and now take advantage of certain matchups. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Ok, at that point, substitute 20 bombers. When I get cannons, my opponents don't usually have machine guns or artillery. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Ive played this map a few times, I still think it's broken. Feels like a noble game on Emp level. Absolutely no challange.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid, aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Amzanig huh?...So with that said: if you can not read my post because of spelling, then who is really the stupid one?...

In my opinion Earth18 map is not broken, it is just unbalanced by design.
There are some civs with incredible advantages (and a human player can exploit them better than AI) but other civs have such a bad start (such as Incas or Mali) that it's a real challange to win with them.
The only real drawback it is that on higher levels AIs start with warriors instead of archers,
so a human player can easy rush near AIs.

New attempt with Qin, trying to get Calendar as soon as possible.
I managed to get it on turn 158, about year 200 BC.
I tried to avoid trade I could postpone, but I needed to research Math and Calendar by myself, because only Cyrus got them before me and he didn't want to trade a monopoly tech.
Now it's 200 AD, I'm the tech leader and i'm the top of all meaningful demographics.
Soon I will start to conquer the world.

Yes, it worked, but not so easily as I thought.
Despite I have valuable techs to trade on the road to Calendar,
AIs didn't want to give me their monopoly tech.
Probably it will work better on Emperor
(Thanks to Apolyton suggestion, soon I'm going to move up a level).
