I hate it when you settle a city with a resource in the outer ring, and some creative jerk settles next to it and takes it away.
Can you say, "target acquired"?
Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. - Ben Franklin Iain Banks missed deadline due to Civ | The eyes are the groin of the head. - Dwight Schrute.

I hate it when my machine guns defend against Cavalry attacks instead of my riflemen, thus wasting first strikes and alowing far too many enemy grenadiers survive.

"If you don't like the weather... move." -- George Carlin
In an SP game I'm more likely to move because if you go 4 turns and the land still sucks you can reset. In an MP game game it's more risky. If there's a plains hill on a river I will waste a turn and move but if not, not settling for a couple of turns puts you in quite a hole. Human players are more likely to rush you early where 1 or 2 turns can mean the difference between survival and death. If you're a civ that starts with myst, and you don't settle on the first turn, give up any hope of one of the two early religions.
And being tempted to move because of the blue circle is just silly. I remember doing that once and when I got to the blue circle, the next turn the blue circle moved to where I started originally.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Immunity to 1st strikes ends with cuirassers(sp?), cavalry are still vulnerable for some reason.
I'm consitently stupid- Japher I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned
Which is probably why the machine guns are selected to defend.

Yeah, in the past i have been guilty of 'chasing the circle.' I still don't know if the blue circle appears because the computer knows about resources that have not been revealed yet.
I hate it when my brother in law quits on a MP team game against the AI because he didn't end up with horsies near his cap. He might even have iron and copper and stone and marble and corn and rice and fish and crab and gems and gold, but if he didn't horsies within 8-10 squares of his cap, its crying time.
I've been known to whine a bit during MP games... but usually I don't go into super heavy crying mode until I know that I don't have horses OR copper OR iron anywhere near me.
The last MP game I played, I settled on a bunch of islands, anticipating being wiped out on the mainland. I figured I could just sit back and trash talk after that
