How do you deal with slave revolts?

Yea, I usually wait 2-3 turns for it to go away on its own. If it doesn't by that point, then I pay.Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012

Like rah, it's usually my capital. The payoff price tends to be low and there's no way I can afford the revolt to go on longer than 1 turn.I'm consitently stupid- Japher
I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

I guess I should think for a sec when it's not my cap. Since it's usually my cap the response is kind of automatic for me.It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

usually pay them off for the -1 hit, the -2 pop isn't worth it IMHO.
Occasionally, depending on the city and circumstances, will let local authorities handle it.Rule 37: "There is no 'overkill'. There is only 'open fire' and 'I need to reload'."

I actually tried the do nothing option on a secondary city the other night. It only stayed in revolt for one extra turn. I may use that option in the future if it's a city that doesn't have food specials and grows slowly. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. If you don't have pyramids though, the ability to whip those extra units when you get surprised can sometimes make all the difference in the world. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

If I have pyramids and running rep, I want the extra specialists that CS provides. If I'm not in rep, those extra specialists don't provide as much advantage so there's not as much reason to give up the whip for them. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Oh, I see. You'll agree that you can run mixed specialists and Rep/Slavery with Pyramids just the same? In many instances gold is interchangeable and just as valuable as beakers, so all you give up is polluting your GPP pool which may not be a concern if you want mixed GP in the first place.

Yes, agreed. I've done it both ways. It depends on the game and my land. And the only time I really worry about pollution of the pool is the first prophet if I founded a religion. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit.
