Been trying to get a better location for Oxford lately as I figure Globe Theater would be best in my GP farm. Problem is as my best city the capital usually gets the GL and an academy so Oxford is a given.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

I always go NE in capital and then either ironworks or Oxford depending on what the rest of my cities are like.

The capital will always have good enough production for units, I'd rather have HE in another city so I can have multiple producers when I need it.

Those are my thoughts also but since Trev usually does well in MP games, I have to consider his methods seriously.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

wouldnt you want WEST POINT in the same city as HE, i would, and if its your capital and on the coast then all the GG's you get go in there as well and either land or sea or air, and if you can get the pentagon, your gonna have lvl 4 or 5 (depending on how many GG's you have) units.

so far in my current game, four massive continents (not that big, i only have 22 cities) my only neighbor on my island is one of my best allies but anyways with my limited fighting (mostly naval battles thus far) ive gotten two GG's and settled them in my cap along with HE and WP and just got factory/coal plant built too, needless to say i can crank out a 200 hammer unit/every turn (i play marathon so everythings tripled) and my cap isnt fully grown yet either for the extra specialists eng's/priests. got a city on the river with 7 hills and one iron w/corn for food and its not fully grown yet either but its building the SOL cranking out 196 hammers/turn (remember marathon, SOL takes 4500 hammers! and im not an ind leader either) i put ironworks in that city and once i get red cross its going there, if you ask me this is my opinion, west point goes in HE, HE goes in your best (sometimes too early to tell) coastal city, then ironworks in your best overall hammer producer along with red cross, then put your GG's in the HE city first then the IW city afterwards, your coastal HE city will be cranking out very experienced units very quickly while your IW city may only be building ground and/or air units but each one will have the medic promo, thats what i do. great navy and healing ground units.

For me... it depends on whether it's MP or SP. I'm finding myself following Trev's suggestion more often in MP since those games rarely get beyond infantry or tanks. In SP, I think longer term, where I have far more specialized cities.
