Also with warriors first, you have the option to snag workers if you find anyone close enough to you. not requiring you delay the growth of your own cap.

I didn't say he did it wrong, just that there were other and IMHO stronger options.

Warrior 1st means an extra exploring unit, which is very valuable however it comes at a price in terms of tile development and growth in the capital.

The corn isn't available until the Istanbul's borders pop on turn 8. Growth to size 2 requires 33 food on Epic speed. Under these circumstances, Istanbul will grow to size 2 on turn 14 : 7 turns @ +2 food (working a 2 F 1 H tile), 6 turns @ +3 (working the corn) and 1 turn @ +1 food (working a plains forest). This gets the warrior at the same time as Istanbul grows to size 2. A worker will now take 15 turns ( 1 H +2 F from the city tile, 3 F from the corn, and 3 H from the forested plains hill for a total of +1 F and 4 H (x1.25 for expansive) = 6 H towards the worker (90 H on Epic).

The worker will complete on turn 29. Theben got lucky by popping AH on turn 24 (yes he played for it, but the RNG is a fickle ***** )

From here, he can put 1 turn into pasturing the sheep next to the capital while moving to the corn. This results in the corn being improved on turn 38 and the 1st sheep on turn 43. The second sheep gets improved on turn 50. Growth to size 3 takes 36 food, 8 turns @ +3 and 2 @ +6 means growth on turn 39 with 4 turns to go on the first pasture.

Worker 1st (plus AH as either the first or second tech) gets the worker out on turn 18. Barring hut luck, AH won't be in by then, so the worker puts one turn into the road on the sheep while moving to the corn. Corn is improved on turn 26. Istanbul will have 27 food stored by then (working the corn for max growth). Istanbul becomes size 2 at turn 27(working irrigated corn + unimproved sheep). The pasture will complete on turn 32 growth to size 3 will happen 2 turns later on turn 34.

Worker 1st gets to size 3 4 turns faster than growing to size 2 and then building a worker.

    Turn 35:

Turn 56: (I forgot to save when I founded Eridine, it was settled on turn 49)
    Spoiler:
Libraries are state sanctioned, so they're technically engaged in privateering. - Felch

So, I just played my turn. But,on this point of game, 50 turns looks much, so I decided to play just 25 turns.

I decided to conquer Amsterdam, then fix the economy, more easy to say than to do.
We had not, and have not yet, territorial coherence,+1,2 or even 3 cities needed; one settler goes his way to one site.
Commerce is poor, mostly due by plains and threat of lack of food; where enough food, paved the way to cottages, as specialists still harder to current food.
Barbarians still a problem, due to said territorial condition; hope will be surpassed soon.
      Science % very low.
      On the plus side, whip worked great; way open to courthouses and some done;
some good resources previously gotten are now connected; defensive units
done; 1 GProphet follows his way to build a Shrine; hamams can be built.
(I'll try to upload the save; if I cannot I'll email it)

        Howdy.

The sub-continent looks like one giant fort to me....

Lookin' good. I'll be following along if that's okay.

I really like the story. That's the best part.

The story seems to have stalled.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned
