So apparently Miners. Inc (or whatever is called) adds a maximum of 6 hammers per city you put it in, even if you the sum of your spare coal+copper+iron is more than 6. Too bad, I was contemplating adding +10 hammers per city ...

In addition, it also adds +4 in the city where it has the headquarters I didn't get this in time ... I should have founded it in my (future) Wall Street city ... I thought only Civ Jewelers was adding money

I don't really see the point in spreading it to the AI civs : i sent an executive to a carthaginian city (then tried with a korean city and it's the same). When I prepare to expand, it says +3 , -9 , and a one-time cost of expansion (196 ). The cost is immediately deducted from my balance. The 3 hammers are added to the AI city (I suspect) and the maintenance cost of -9 gold is substracted from the AI income every turn, but it does not appear to add to mine ... Instead, I get the usual 4 in the HQ ... With market, grocer and bank that's 24 turns to recoup the initial investment ... not horrible but I definitely have better options for the 100 the executive costed me ...
    Some misc thoughts....

As previouly suggested, add Wall Street for the best return on your investment.

Also, IMO spreading a corp to an AI can depend on a couple of other things. For example, spreading it to a vassal or minor AI is sometimes an excellent idea. Not because it benefits YOU, but because it helps your vassal OR helps an AI who is at odds with your primary rivals. Enemy of my enemy is my friend kind of thing.

Secondly, your game strategy might be production heavy. Such as a Engineer SE game, or a Japanese Shale game. So, you might value the gold investment much more and the hammers might be real easy to come by.

Lastly, even if you don't have a production heavy game, you surely have one city with Ironworks or whatever that is a hammer monster. It already has all the buildings it needs, and if you're not at war then cranking out units might just be adding to your unit maintenance to no benefit. So, cranking out Execs might be an excellent idea.

There is btw, no limit on how many hammers mining inc. can produce. Somehow, sorinache must have mixed up something there. +10 hammers per city definetaly is doable on maps large enough.

But giving each of their cities +3 might be dangerous. How would my relations with them be affected by my spreading Miners Inc. to their territory ? Is this taken positively or negatively ? You might understand that I would hate to, at the same time, increase their production capability AND make them unhappy with me ...

I can relate to that !
For some programming-related reason, the AIs regard spreading your corporations to them as a good thing. So they won't get madder at you. Note that they get hammers based on the number of selected resources available to them. So, I wouldn't offer them more hammers if they have half a dozen each of iron copper and coal. These times their own hammer-multipliers could be formed into a fairly massive force that could eat a neighbor or two.

One thing to be careful of when spreading to AI is that they will then no longer trade the resources to you (unless they're your vassal).

Quite often when I'm doing a corp game I'll make a point of getting Hollywood and Rock'n'Roll. You can trade those 'free' resources for TONS of the corp resources.

You are right, I stand corrected - there is a 1 turn lag maybe, between the moment I acquire a new source of Iron / Coal / etc. and the turn where the Mining Inc. production bonus takes that into account. Pretty realistic, too

Yes, I love those too. I only managed to build Hollywood in this game, the bloody Spaniards (again ...) have beaten me to Rock'n Roll.

BTW, I'm surprised that Rock'n Roll doesn't seem to be built-able (?) by a Great Artist ... It should, IMO ...
