Other people say they use the feature, so either they are hallucinating or it works for them. I'm quite sure no programmer decided to single out you for a broken code set. Therefore, you shold be able to get it to work or share the hallucination.

Okay. With that in mind, Nugog gave you one alternative. This is to save the game in a normal manner, then attach that save to an e-mail you then send to your cohort. All manner of frustrating incompatiblities may occur initially, but this method can be made to work. We all did used to do this with various games up 'til the turn of the millenium. I've never played Civ in a PBEM format, but others here have.

Now, when feeling frustrated remember we responders are trying to help, not add to your frustration. We are not Reps of Firaxis or the designers.

Perhaps you could try attaching a non-performing PBEM game to a reply on this thread. I'm dubious as to whether or not this will actually help, but it's worth a shot, as long as we feel you are not going to attack us for trying.

I am sending them the old fashion way. And it is working for the guy I am sending them to. (set his up so I don't think it's anything I did)

As for Firaxis (Take Two) they responded by sending me links about other games. Like I would buys those since Civ 4 isn't working. Yeah Right.

Ok I'll attach a save file. Password: 10841937

Nugog, does the attached help? I am not that kind of troubleshooter.

A much belated reply - been flat out the last few weeks.

I can open the save just fine.

Which again brings me back to the fact that there must have been an issue with different setups of the game being played by the different players.
I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

Opening the saved game was never the issue.
